Making hooded sweatshirts look good is rare - they're bummy fucking piece that should be kept in the house. I've only really seen it done well when it was black, unbranded with dark blue jeans and something like boots; and even then, it's nothing to call it fit.

Crew-neck, on the other hand, can be done tastefully. Don't be the fucking tool that puts an ocbd under it and call it "casual" - they can be worn like a crewneck sweater would be, but in a lesser setting. Still, I'd reserve it for running to the store or lounging around.
