How come gq hasn't contacted our trip friends to do an interview yet?

Because 4chan is still perceived as /b/.

The last thing I'd want is a bunch of attention seeking faggots representing this board.

You'd be surprised how many media people actually read 4chan.

Do the GQ people? Dunno, but it doesn't hit their target demographic or image, and running a story on /fa/ would be a douche move. On us. The last thing the board needs is an injection of pasteurized, mainstream self-aware aspirational masculinity.

I'd run this. It's stupid not the think the weird shit teenagers do matters. Yung Lean is the washed-out, post-ironic, bucket-hatted, sad but not bad future. Gen-Y+ whining means nothing. You feel me?

Like this, but with dumb a-everything teenage boys instead of smart political teenage girls.

The media just doesn't feel like it can do a positive story about 4chan. Even people who go on 4chan don't want to talk about it publically. Reddit is a safe thing to talk about and the article is really about two safe things coming together to make a mildly, tepidly interesting article. It's like a handshake.
>hey, i read gq and I go on reddit i'll read this article

>ps i get negged as fuck on sufu waywt threads on the reg and collect yugioh cards

>> No.6834014

Hell, I really think 4chan is one of the most oft-overlooked and influential cultural furnaces in the world today. The beauty and tragedy of 4chan is that it cannot be monetized from within.
Cheezburger, anyone?

>> No.6834024

They did.

Most tripfags aren't really the easiest to get ahold of. There are no PM systems, or ways to contact the common posters here, and there are very few people here interested in admitting they post here.

In other words, no one wants to be connected to 4chan, and no one wants to do a news story with a source from 4chan.

>> No.6834032

>>6834014
4chan doesn't have the same influence as 2ch and 2chan because of the diversity of the posters.

this is a good ass post, upvoted

poet x user (poster formerly known as void) f/w 2013/2014 sounds good

>> No.6834406

>>6833948
Exactly. People might rarely, briefly mention or allude to it in conversation/Twitter with people they know aren't going to wig, but that's it.

>>6834014
Agreed.

>>6834024
Whether people would agree to it is another thing, but getting in touch with tripfags is easy as getting in touch with people at a public event: walk up to them and ask for contact info. I think most trips have dropped an e-mail for someone at some point.

>>6834032
Can you expand on this?
