I see this kind of thing a lot on /fa/, the double shirt layering thing. How do you pull that off? You just put two matching shirts on? Or should they be some specific type? I've never seen anyone wearing that.

Well, yeah, but that's a tank underneath. Layering sleeved shit can look weird if you do it wrong, but a longer tank under a tee is literally impossible to fuck up.
