Any love for Common Projects?

Thinking of copping these. (Pic related) boots second hand. They're the work boots, with wooden sole.

Thoughts? Do they hold up well? Worth the money? Any other suggestions / alternatives?

Boots general.

You'll find that /fa/ has a very favorable opinion on CP's

For boots that looks similar to your pic?

Wolverine 1K miles
Red wing Beckmans (aka gentleman travelers)
White's Semi-dress
Viberg Service boot
Oak Stree Bootmakers Trench Boot
Dayton Service Boot
And are you absolutely sure that sole is WOODEN? Because that sounds awful.

As far as common projects go, they are fantastic. I've never owned any boots from them, just runners. I have however handled a number of pairs of their boots, and from everything I've seen they are on pair with the quality of their shoes, which is pretty impressive. The shoes I have can take a beating and still look solid. I'd say go for it, but I'd also suggest you look at other companies in a similar price point first. Chiefly, some companies that are big boot names. CP makes good, solid, stuff. But over all, I'd say a pair of Vibergs, Aldens, Wolverines, or even Red Wings would likely be a better bet than a pair of CP's.

That may just be my brand based bias though.

>> No.6761221

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I found a different picture of them on google and went to the website, that's how they were described on that site (wooden sole work boots).

Must've been a mistake.

The sole is stacked leather, but there's some wood in the heel, I think.

I've looked at the Oak St Trench boots -they're awesome, but a bit pricey. Also, it might've just been me, but I couldn't find an option for black on their website.

Wolverine 1K are nice too, but similarly out of my price range. It's been an expensive couple months.

it would cease to be the same product. there's already a lot of people in that niche anyway. the entire reason cp has been so successful is because they found a niche to fill, no reason to move out of it just because you want some cheaper shoes.
