It's not actually the sea that makes them look weathered like that. One run in the ocean isn't going to make a difference. Maybe if you put the bag in a crab pot for two weeks.
All the patina of that bag comes from a pumice-driven stone wash. It's an interesting idea they've got, but they half assed it because doing it properly isn't very cost effective and doesn't produce uniform results.
