Palladiums are a disgusting joke which has been foisted upon hipsters by UO - I wouldn't be caught dead in them. They are an insult to real boots.
If you absolutely have to get them, get leather. The one time I ever saw them look aceptable was a pair of brown leather ones.
Nevertheless, I'd say avoid them like the plague.

Get canvas if you don't want to shell out for better boots. Their leather boots look awful. The leather they use looks awful.

I wear the waterproof leather ones in rainy Oregon. does the job just fine I think they look great over a cuffed jean.

I think that all of their baggy boots look pretty awful, but I like their pampa hi leathers. Just copped zip-ups in granata colorway

I live in the pacific northwest, my palladiums have held up very nicely to rain and snow. Even if they aren't the most aesthetically pleasing they are very utilitarian when compared to traditional leather boots.
