To me, I'm reminded of the quote from one of those old classical philosophers (I can't remember which):

"Be kind to every man you meet, for each and every one is fighting a great battle."

In a densely packed city there must be millions of silent, despairing souls trapped in hells of their own making.
The best one of these GigaPixel things I saw involved a sporting event in boston with an entire crowd pressed up against a fence for blocks and blocks. There was so much god damned hidden emotion and story in that picture. You could zoom into thousands of lives.

I wish I could find it again.

Problem with that is that the ego of the average human prevents them from sympathizing on that level, prevents them from that immersion

I know I am making a HUGE assumption but that is my experience with Man

Is... is that moot? The one on the right?

Well, at least you and I are capable of that empathy. We know that right off the bat, at least.

i know u post-faced it with the assumption bit but whut ur saying is kind of stereotyping

there's many levels that go into people not sympathizing with others and ego is only one of them :(((( (ex being in a rush)

The people I talk to do not see things from all the angles, if they did they did it would show in what they say

This board has recently been contributing to that bias
All I see is what to "buy what to buy?"
Rarely "why?"
And how?
Rarely do i hear discussion about the way a garment speaks about the culture we are living in or about novel construction techniques

And the worst part is when they can't be humble about it
They have to drag their egos in, like I said before
They are the same people that call others "pseudo intellectuals"

No, sadly. I looked through that one though, and others. The problem is that most people at a sporting event are in the same mood, doing the same thing. This was actually outside some arena in the city right before the sporting event, and there were lots of people doing lots different things.

I agree, but we can also be the ones to start that dialog when it's sorely lacking.
