imagine you were a fashion designer of relative acclaim. you have an easily distinguishable style and a bit of a cult following. you see a dorky manlet dressed head to toe in your gear begin to approach you. what do you do?

this guy went to a yohji show all dressed in yohji. isn't that a bit like going to a concert wearing the t-shirt of the headlining band? would you even want to meet your favorite designer?

If it's any consolation there's a metric ton of interview footage of him on Youtube which probably covers several times over anything that would have been asked.

Also I dunno about the venue but generally when designers engage the public it's pretty disastrous.

But skip to the Q&A at the end holy shit is it abysmal. There's only like 3 questions but the first is some old dude who basically holds the mic hostage and goes off about how stupid fashion school is (at a fashion school which is hosting the event) and tries to bully Yohji into agreeing with him. I forget the second question (which speaks a lot to its worth) but the absolute worst is the final question. Some girl asks Yohji, Yohji fucking Yamamoto if he thought he made the right decision going into fashion.
