How do you feel about thrifting? Any favorite thrift store? How do you feel that thrifting has become a new fad now, with that Macklemore song and also DIY tumblr fashion becoming more relevant? (think dip dyed shorts/crop tops)

>> No.6404302

I thrifted everything I own cause I'm a poorfag

i like the idea behind it but dont do it anymore. everytime i go into a thrift store there are frat boys looking for "my grandads' clothes" also they NEVER have shit in my size.

>> No.6405612

It's alright, I guess. With the new fad coming in, it's pretty cool that people aren't trying to increase demand of such trivial things, but they still go around texting on their iphones and shit. Also, everything is large and up.

everything is huge, agreed. I don't have a problem with thrift stores. on rare occasions you'll find something nice in your size. it's worth the 10 minutes looking once a week.

I look like the female version of a fuccboi but I got a mix and match wardrobe of about 7 shirts and 3 pants (same accessories daily because I'm just shopping for groceries and going for coffee, my relatives don't have a coffee maker or room for one), plus a pair of beater shoes, that will last me the summer.

5'10", 200 lbs, trying to get back to 160/size 6 US again. Lowest was 145, size 4, but I went to the hospital for anorexia, was put on pills, boomed to 240 in a year, and only lost half that in the previous year.

Current jeans are a size 10 but they're from KMart apparently (thrift store but I googled the brand).

It was because I lost the 15 -20 (my standard weight was 160-165) in a month due to depression and not eating. 2 meals a week counted but obviously, I'm fine now but the pills were a bitch.

If it was just being skinny, it'd be different, but it was the depression factor that led to the doctors saying it. I'm not pro-ana or anything, and it's not a time I'm particularly proud of, or a diagnosis I really like (given the fact that the pills made me gain even when I dieted, even when I exercised).

Obviously, I miss my old skinny body (160, not lower as much) and am working to get it back, but it takes a while. I have college and a job, and I diet when I can and work out likewise. 40 lbs off so far, about 40 to go.

Again, I don't want to be an insensitive dick but that's a BMI of 23

>> No.6409176

>>6409155

Because it's not all about a BMI or a weight.

Signs I specifically fit were:

- low potassium levels (but I got that when I drank too much too)
- rapid and dramatic weight loss
- perception of self as fat
- depression (except the anorexia was really a symptom of the depression which still affects me daily)
- keto breath
- lots of exercise (walking around for hours)
- always cold
- shaking a lot
- throwing away my food secretly
- comparing myself to others in terms of weight, a lot

I'm aware. 5'10" is pretty tall though for a girl, and my actual body fat percentage is low, so I end up not looking like I weigh as much (hence, size 6 US at that weight, and not at like, Old Navy or some shit where everyone can fit the 0 size, but at Nordstroms and such).

http://www.mybodygallery.com/photos-34769-body-shape.htm?StartAt=0#.Uc142FV7P2E

That's a link to someone else who is 5'10" and weighs around what I weighed, and has the same pants size.

http://www.mybodygallery.com/photos-19196-body-shape.htm?StartAt=1#.Uc15FlV7P2E

That's closer to what I look like now. I only make an effort to lose during the summer so my stomach looks gross right now too, with the weight loss stretch marks, but they go away once I plateau for a while. I'm not going to get bat wings or anything.

>> No.6409198

>>6409186

Yeah. It was the fact my depression got really bad and my ex was being a jackass to me at school (physical bullying stuff that I didn't tell anyone, even my friends, about, because it only happened in classes I had with him and his friends, and not in ones with mine). He was going after a lot of my friends' sisters and friends who were all like me, except skinny and petite, so I started comparing myself to them and thinking about how gross I was for being tall and normal weight instead of skinny-tier dollmode.

That was 2 years ago, and I'm fine. He's a manlet too, at 5'7", so it makes sense he wants smaller girls.
