So are expensive sneakers actually worth it? Not talking about style or anything but if I drop a lot on some Raf/MMM/Rick/whatever the fuck will they last me a while?

Like I've worn shitty sneakers my whole life that last about a season and fall apart and obviously don't want that. How long do these types of sneakers tend to last? Assuming moderate wear, like once or twice every week

Geobaskets are apparently bad quality.

>> No.6397067

the style/design is why they are expensive tho.

in my experience stuff with the sole that CP, Raf, Ann Dem, etc., use lasts a good while. it is more sturdy than what vans uses, for reference. leather in general tends to last longer than canvas. if you're going to do a dollar per day valuation though it won't "be worth it," you should just cop some wal-mart or H&M plimsolls if you want maximum wear for the cheapest value.

for your own peace of mind i guess, my adam kimmel bball sneakers are going on their 3rd year of pretty regular wear. only thing wrong with them is the heel wearing away unevenly, but that's probably due to my own fucked up posture anyway

was going to say something along these lines, but this dude said it better than I would.

Thanks for the help dude. Not expecting to buy them for life, just want to get some good looking shoes that i can baby for a few years, rather than buy some vans and have the soles split and fuck up within a year.

how about some good brands in the medium price range? i just need some functional sneakers that will last me a while, unlike zara and h&m. i was really let down by adidas for example so i'm reluctant to buy anything at all

Go with CP's. Only higher end sneakers I've owned were achilles lows and they were second hand, and they've held up like a champ.

do you consider common projects medium price range?

svennson, our legacy, and all saints appear to use the same factory as the others mentioned ITT. i've not seen these in person though so i can't comment on the quality of the leather. i'll be sure to post to this thread if any others come to mind.

Just picked up a pair of Rafs. These are made in Portugal instead of Italy. Compared to my old Rafs i feel like quality has decreased. Stitching isn't as clean etc.

>> No.6397373

cps are amazing quality for the price. I wear them more than my geos which are pretty good as well except for the sole

are your old ones leather?
the material on the velcros seems very flimsy. but I guess they have to be that way to have that look.

also with high end sneakers you will never get holes or something neither will the sole fall off
what happens is the sole wears off which can't be avoided but since most soles are either solid like cp or easily replaceable like rick it isn't a big deal and you can get 3-5 years out of them if you don't walk like a downie

Or you could just buy a pair of adidas and they will last. Expensive sneakers are a fucking con. Go buy nice dress shoes or boots with the money.

All leather, these are patent leather and ...something spacey. Not sure. Doesn't feel extremely durable.

Cop some welted sneakers from Feit, they'll last as long as any dress shoe.
