Hey /fa/,
I'm not as much jerking off to specific designers or brands as other people here do. But I'm a freak when it comes to fabrics - I just love really interesting blends, like silk/cottong blends, interesting polyblends or linen blends. Really anything that gives a fabric interesting properties.

Do you know any good brands in the low/mid tier price range that like to play around with fabrics, but have basic designs?

I don't think you'll find much in that price range

Jesus fuck, I just saw this.

This shit is fucking straight out of D&D. Reminds me of an armour found in I think NWN, a whole leather jerkin built by sewing the skin of humans intentionally murdered for the item.

god I LOVE sruli recht. exactly what I like, but not exactly low/mid price range.

I thought so, although I don't understand why. Complex/unorthodox blends don't need to be overly costly commodities, especially since I'm a big friend of synthetic fibers.

I have yet to see a silk/cotton tee that was not significantly overpriced (judging from the raw fabric prices) because of the name of the designer.

The 'cheapest' people I can think of who are using 'interesting' fabric for basics is VoidTheBrand. It's a shade above your average basics but not luxurious per se.
If you really want to have fun with textiles, you should forget the low/mid tier price range altogether.
Look at Outlier's NyCo Slim Chinio while you're at it.

you did, uhm, read the OP, right?
When I say interesting fabrics I don't necessarily mean silk knitted from the glands of a spider (although that's p awesome), but unconventional blends.

Unconventional blends do not necessitate a (very) high price, however in practice they do correlate because usually you find such fabrics in designer pieces where you have to pay extra for the artistic work of the designer and the brand. I'd be happy with vanilla basic pieces, just made out of interesting blends.

>>6314496
Thanks for the tip, I'll look into them.
If you are right about not finding much in the mid tier price sector, then I will probably resort to buying the fabrics on my own - I'm good enough at sewing for doing such a thing.
I have calculated that the raw material cost of a basic cotton/silk T (55/45) would be around 30 bucks plus two hours of working for me.

Some of it's not bad.
They make an interesting beanie.
I guess it's expensive but OP is asking for the moon and stars on a silver platter. It's a decent middle of the road option.

If price wasn't a sticking point I'd point OP towards Raeburn's mesh sleeve bombers, the rapha parachute silk jacket, or the lace bomber. Pic related.

Check label under construction, especially limited pieces. A lot of them have history of their own.

Alexander Wang occasionally sells affordable basics made of interesting fabric. This tee in particular is constructed with 67% Rayon and 33% Silk. It has a slightly sheer, slubby texture.
