What's your hairstyle at the moment?

I've been growing out my hair for a few months now. (Used to have it buzzed down to a 5 on top 3 on the sides.) Now its decently long and I have NO CLUE what to do with it.

I was thinking of going for a haircut like the one in the picture, or something similar. Only problem is, if I go to the barber I have no clue what to tell him if I want that.

I was wondering the same thing. I literally tried to copy his hair in the mirror earlier. Did a good job except my sides are too long and my hair on the left side keeps parting really dramatically, rather than the nearly unnoticeable parting like Mr. Beckham's here.

With a high hairline it's generally better to have longer hair. I'm of the opinion that the longer nineties hair is making a return after the recent bun and top knotphase and the preceding beckham style that everybody seemed to have. Your hair doesn't seem to be incredibly thick, so it could be wise to get a good product that suits it. If you can't make up your mind let it grow longer. I didn't cut my hair for about 9 months and it's ended up about kurt cobain length.

also by letting it get longer it allows you to make your mind up easily if a particular style takes your attention. It's a lot easier to cut your hair than grow it.

Alright, I'll let it continue to grow. For the time being though, should I continue doing something similar to what I posted, or blow it downwards or...?

Also, when you mentioned "products", do you mean shampoo and conditioner? Because I only use water in my hair and shampoo like once a week ish. (Maybe longer.)

I'm also guessing you mean gel or something, but I'm lost when it comes to that since I've never used it. Because I know some products make your hair stay in place but remain soft and movable, not hard and rigid like gel for spikes.

Does it help with making it look more shiny? Or do you need a conditioner for that?
I think the style would suit my face, but mine looks really dry. I'm guessing the sides are long enough, top not yet.

I'm also wondering what haircuts I can get. Now monitoring this thread. Some questions if any of you wanna help. Extreme pleb when it comes to hair.

1) If you have gelled hair, does it look terrible without gel? Is it important to have access to gel every morning?

2) Why don't you use shampoo everyday?

3) I've always got a buzz or 2-1 fade, which is pretty pleb. Think I'm gunna shave the sides and keep the top, just to get a good idea of what I want. What should the directions be? "shave the sides, keep the top" as simple as it is? Or is there more to it? What is this style called?

4) Where can I go find more hairstyles that involve gelling and slicking the hair? What are those type of hairstyles called?
