Going for the samurai top knot with shaved short sides.
Any tips for growing out, do's and don'ts, pros and cons etc for achieving this?

Also don't bother telling me not to try cause I'm going for it either way, just here to learn how to do it the right way

You can undo the knot and move the hair around to make it into a HY or anything.

It's very malleable.

two guys i have class with have these and it looks great on both of them

one is an asian du who does full samurai mode. the other is a white guy with almost rust coloured brown hair and a great moustache. you gotta have a good hairline and keep it tied high to work though.

Going to mildly jack your thread. I have pretty long hair (just about sits on my shoulders) but it's a bit shorter on the front (to my chin), is it actually possible for me to manbun? Every time I try it doesn't really work and the front flops out.

ok im trying to get this, but i have to wait for my bangs to grow like 2-3 months before i can tie, but i also had a shaved back/sides before and now im thinking of growing it into a full bun but i also have to wait a few moths for that, so which one is more fa? shaved sides/back or full manbun (i can grow a beard and i got a somewhat well defined jaw/jawline)
