I don't know how /fa/ users do it. I used to browse here all the time and bought plenty of designer clothes, etc. During that time in my life I was also mildly depressed and very insecure. After I regained my confidence I realized that spending so much time on my appearance was really just pointless artificial manipulation of my image. Now I dress in one of a few t-shirts and jeans I've had for years every single day and let my actions and words speak for themselves.

How can you wake up each day and put on clothes knowing that you're just cloaking yourself in another person's ideas and creations? Knowing that you're creating a false persona for yourself, that you're living a lie?

Please explain. I would honestly like to know.
