Hairstyle help

Yeah, I know, another one. If I didn't absolutely suck at this, and all the googling I've done didn't confuse me, I'd not have made another one of these threads.

I always wore my hair short as a kid, now that I'm grown, girls continue to tell me to keep it long 'or else.'

It's getting out of control, though, and needs to be tamed. It's very dry (I take accutane), so maybe something with product would help ameliorate that? I do condition my hair, starting from the beginning of my shower, AND leave some in afterwards.

I checked the sticky, didn't see any long hairstyles I liked, nor do I even know what the hell would look good on me.

Go to a nice salon. in your area.
google and find one.
Talk to the stylist about what product would work for you.
Alot of leave in conditioners work well for dry hair.
They can thin and shape it to sit better,without shortening it.

I assume I can do the same for the hairstyle, I just tried that a few times with very expensive cuts and never felt like I ended up with anything that had... personality. I look at hairstyles on these boards and they do, and the ones I were provided did not feel the same way.

Maybe I should have just tried another stylist.

It all depends on the stylist.
Ive been going to the same girl for years,she knows me well and knows what i like and is familiar with my hair and what will and will not work with it.
This is much much harder to do in certain parts on the country though.
Im close to Los Angeles so its easy to find places like that here,with good stylists.

The front of my hair doesn't seem long enough, even when the bun is really high, maybe because it's so dry. I'll have to try it with some product in it later
