Are these standards inclusive of those who gain weight by choice/athleticism?

Its bothersome to know how perfectly my pants used to fit, and how my legs have gotten only a little bigger but enough to ruin the silhouette. But i asked myself is wearing nice clothing now going to be a good enough reason not to be strong? How can a person honestly make a decision like that?
I'd be lying if I said that a larger leg and thus a proportionally larger pant looks as nice as an extremely thin one with a sharper silhouette, I think the evolutionary reason for this is thinness gives the illusion of height and height is a physically admirable trait, but i don't think the look is worth the sacrifice. I like running and biking and other muscilarily demanding activities more than standing and looking pretty.

Can /fa/ really condemn this mindset? I'm not lifting for women or to best people up, I just want to go rock climbing some day.

6'4" 180 here. sorry for late reply. try strong lifts 5x5. if you're going to the gym more than 4 times per week, you're doing it wrong. eat more good food, do squats, dead lifts, bench press, barbell rows. compound exercises are all you need to gain strength and size. start with getting to perfect form before you add weight. once you have the form down, add 5-10 pounds per exercise every time you do the exercise again on a new day. it's all in strong lifts 5x5, look it up!
