1.5k but still. It's literally the exact same watch I can't believe there are dumb retards buying the left one because it's slightly shinier.

And they used to be (SARB/SARX) less than $350 a few years ago for the exact same thing too.

how is this anglage even possible? how long does it take?

>> No.17961888

>>17961885
It takes a massive amount of time.
Most anglage is basically a thin 45-degree angle strip along the edge that gets polished with a handheld dremel tool (Patek, Lange, ...) held at a fixed angle along the entire edge.

But THIS type of anglage is actually fully rounded, it basically looks like a quarter circle in cutout profile.
So if you want to polish it you can't just use a dremel tool, you have to use bits of wood with diamond paste and meticulously trace the entire contour, half mm by half mm.

Yes.
More specifically the Micro Artist Studio division. They also produce some Grand Seiko movements.
They were personally trained by Dufour too. He took them into some local woods to find the right kind of pegwood to use for polishing.

But tbqh the "Dufour wood" is an urban legend at the end. He used to just collect it from the woods in his back yard.

The best terroirs in French winemaking are also located in the backyards of the actual makers.

You can't just say "well it won awards, it must be good." who the fuck is givinf the awards? What is the award based on? That was the point of the Obama comment - Obama won a Nobel peace prize literally just for being elected president and went on to spend 8 years drone striking the ever loving shit out of absolutely everything every chance he got, even american citizens. Out of the pic you posted, I've owned four, the OP, GS, SLA and Speedy.

SLA is insanely inaccurate for something that is supposed to have a GS tier movement, the 8L. I would sometimes get +13 seconds per day on it, literally straight from the factory/boutique. It's also about 1 or 2 mm too thick. It doesn't sound like much, but there's something about the design that will make you notice it over time. Also, the lume on many of them is uneven.

The GS Springdrive is very well finished but it's design eventually gets very tiresome/stale. And once that polishing starts to wear, it loses a lot of its allure.

The Speedy has a lot of soul, but there are a million variations of it. If you're after it because of the space heritage, you realize that most of the current versions have nothing to do with that history. Unless you're ready to put down $15k for a caliber 321 reissue, the rest are just pretenders. At best, you can get one with an 1861 which has somewhat of a link to the space program, but again, it's never going to be a moon watch. Just something pretending to be something it isn't.

The OP is exceptionally boring. It's well put together, but you will not accept it as a one and done piece.

They are basically Seiko’s answer to Cartier. Disposable Fashion watches. However, the Micro Artist Studio makes a tiny number of pieces per year badged as Credor that actually are pretty nice.

FRANKFURT: Buying an expensive watch abroad and wearing it during return journey to evade paying Customs duty may prove costlier than one may believe. As per law, it is an act of smuggling even if the time piece is intended for personal use.

An automobile detailing professional, who is under the scanner of the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) for smuggling in over a dozen premium watches in the recent past, is an aficionado who bought them for personal use, revealed a preliminary probe by the agency, sources said. The watches have since been seized and will be auctioned off by the agency. The accused is in his thirties.

The accused smuggled in the watches during several overseas trips undertaken by him owing to his enthusiasm for premium watches, as a part of his hobby, said sources in the BZSt.

Most of the watches seized by the BZSt are ‘luxury’ watches having exceptionally high value, said sources.

The BZSt officials said that acting on an anonymous tip, a team of the agency arrested the accused at Flughafen Frankfurt Main (FRA) on his arrival from Tokyo, Japan. At the time of his arrest, the accused was allegedly carrying a swiss made Rolex wristwatch and a “very expensive japanese Seiko wristwatch” on each of his wrists, which had not been declared before Customs to avoid paying the duty, said the agency. The accused was arrested by the BZSt.

After questioning the accused, the DRI team had carried out a search of his residence located above an upscale brothel in the Central German Metropolitan Region. A Frankfurt court subsequently released the accused on bail.

The search yielded a virtual trove of 11 more high-end watches of various premium brands he had purportedly smuggled into the country during several overseas trips.

The accused claimed during his questioning that he would wear the watches while smuggling them in and insisted they were old and used articles, to evade the payment of 17.5% customs duties plus VAT, sources said.

Frankfurt, Germany - In a shocking development at Frankfurt Airport yesterday, a man was apprehended by authorities under suspicion of attempting to smuggle a watch adorned with the banned swastika symbol into Germany from Japan. The watch, a grim reminder of a dark chapter in German history, was promptly destroyed in accordance with strict regulations regarding hateful symbols.

Sources indicate that the accused individual, a car detailing professional whose identity remains undisclosed due to ongoing investigations, caught the attention of airport security personnel during routine checks. Wearing a seemingly innocuous timepiece, it was quickly discovered that the dial featured the notorious swastika emblem, evoking memories of the atrocities committed during World War II.

The incident prompted an immediate investigation into the individual's possible links to Japanese ultranationalist organizations, with officials exploring potential motives behind the attempt to bring this symbol of hate into the country.

"The propagation and exhibition of symbols associated with Nazi ideology are strictly forbidden in Germany," emphasized the spokesperson for the Federal Police. "We have taken immediate and necessary steps to destroy the confiscated watch, ensuring that such symbols have no place in our society."

Germany, committed to confronting its dark past and fostering an inclusive society, has enacted stringent laws on hate symbols. The swastika, notoriously misappropriated by the Nazis, is explicitly banned. The authorities, therefore, handle any instances connected to the emblem with great seriousness, recognizing its potential to incite hatred, racism, and division.

Further investigations are underway to ascertain man's motive and possible ties to hate groups. German officials are collaborating with their Japanese counterparts to gather more details on the suspect's known associations and travel history, in an effort to shed light on a potentially larger network.
