Guide to posters

Major avatarfags
=================================

>Poortadello/OmegaDrunk

>Whoretadello/Degen Anon
Greek living in Germany. Cleans cars for a living. Has a Tudor, Homos and some Seikos. Life currently falling apart. Responds by getting more material things and falling in love with strippers. Precious metals investor.

>Citizen drunk/Finncel
Finnish. Alcoholic. Only owns one watch but posts a lot, mostly about alcohol or coins. Possibly immortal. Tragic case of gyno.

Semi-regular posters/minor avatarfags/possibly gone.
=================================

>Mortadello/Lawyersama
Very positive and friendly but doesn't post anything of any consequence. Lawyer. Obese. Posts terrible photos of amazing watches. Does not take criticism well.

Owns several vintage chronographs of various makes and is knowledgeable

>Nobully anon
Has rich parents who have bought them (poster is trans) several VCs and a GS.

>Cockwatch

>Reverso Anon
Has Blancpain, Rolex, Reverso. Dislikes avatarfagging. Major penfag.

>Tank autist
Compliling a very autistic list of tank style watches. Owns no watches.

>Two of Each anon
Autist of the highest order. Compelled to buy two of any watch he owns. Cannot explain why

>ALS anon
Has an 1815 Up/Down. Stays under the radar but occasionally pops his head up to flex.

>Submissive brah/Subbrah
Owns a Sub, is a sub.

>Weekdater anon
Owns a Seiko Weekdater, goes on dates weekly

>Hungarian anon
Is a watchmaker, complains about his customers

Buying vintage isn't easy, sometimes a good-looking deal might turn into an unforgettable shitter that no matter how much money you put into will never run correctly.

That Breguet is fucking ugly. Central second hand and date window don't match the aesthetic.
That Calatrava is one of the one dullest versions and basically looks like some shitty Orient Bambino. It desperately lacks that neo-classic vibe that ref. 3923 had (see pic related).
The Day-Date is cool.
The Speedmaster belongs to the trash, just like every Omega.
The Submariner is nice but these 6 digits references will forever be mogged by 5 digits (the only good looking 6 digits Rolexes are the OP and Explorer).
Same with the Daytona. Too bold, too modern.

Only people who know about the history of watchmaking and are sensible to design will agree with me. I don't expect some slob with a Grand Seiko on his wrist to understand what I'm talking about, but still...
>classic 1800s Breguet aesthetic (guilloche, roman numerals, coin edged case, Breguet hands)
>1950s/1960s features (center second hand, date window)
The design is anachronic and stupid. If you think this Breguet looks nice, you have bad taste.

That's not me you're replying to. To me, all breguet classiques and the tradition are kinda too "holy" to criticize, I'm too much of a fanboy to agree that a classique, any classique, is bad looking. The one you posted now, I simply love it. I'm sorry, I can't be objective.

Bracelet bros... Why they do us like that?
It's not bad but if the dial is so good, a "it's not bαd" shouldn't be acceptable. It still fits the overall design and I like how thick it is. But something feels off.

Only 6 hours? I need from start to finish around 14 hours. And I do that non-stop so that I am done in one day/one go.
I do everything, even removed spoilers from the cars to clean, polish And seal beneath it.
My best work so far was this integra type r dc2. He came all the way from the Netherlands to me.
I can't stress enough how foggy and old (25 years old) his colour looked like before. I might find some pics. This one took 16 hours, I only asked for 1000€ because I loved his car. From those 1000€ i maybe made around... 600€ of net winning. I used expensive products. But I love doing that. I really love my job, it gives a sense of fulfilment.

You need to find ways to un-mess it. The "Type R" sticker in the back is new, I re-applied it because the old one was, well, old. Letters missing, torn etc.
Now, while removing the sticker, I had to scratch them off with sandpaper, i scratched off too much and went straight the primer lol. I went and bought a "Victory White" spray can, and then I had to paint it. Dried it with a heatgun, and polished the fuck out of it. How I applied the sticker so perfectly is beyond me. It was luck, pure luck. So I fixed my fuck up with know-how. The area that was re-painted was maybe 15x15cm.
Obviously you can't do that with Bentleys and GT3RS's. So..... You have to be careful. Very careful. Holograms are not a problem, you can remove them, but if you scratch the paint, well good luck.

Anyway I found a pic. Before and After.

Even rich people won't or cant. You're talking 50 to 100k for a watch that costs 10 to 15k at retail. It's a joke. Sure billionaires and multi millionaires can do that, and some probably do, but many don't. Because it's fucking stupid. It's not like being rich is a reason to set your money on fire. When a Porsche costs 150k, they don't voluntarily pay 250k for it instead.

Anyone with a few hundred thousand in the bank will not do this either, and is by definition considered wealthy / upper class. Most people wont even be comfortable spending 10k on a watch, with that kind of wealth. But it's acceptable to many. Dumping a quarter of your net worth into a Rolex AD isn't acceptable though.

I have yet to see anyone provide proof that 50k in jewelry is a prerequisite to being allowed to buy a Rolex. It's always just
>Yeah, happened to be guys, totally believe me.

Yes, if you want a Daytona or GMT-Master II, watches that are made in small quantities compared to DJs, a shop will offer them to loyal customers, but if you just want a normal Rolex, you're waiting a couple months, tops.

When I bought my Exp2, I walked in with zero purchase history. I'd never even set foot in their parking lot before. I chatted with the sales girl for a bit, tried on a couple models, I liked the Exp2 and asked to buy one.
She said, "OK, no problem. We don't have any in stock, but we'll put an order in for you. We get shipments every month. We don't always know exactly what's in each shipment. So say it'll take about six months, give or take." I said OK. It took five months. Zero drama.

what solidifies the final cuck here is the actual audacity to remove the bracelet and strap on a proverbial cuck strap like the strap on needed to satisfy your woman in a relationship due to the lackluster girth and size packed by a user who would commit such atrocities as previously mentioned
absolutely haram in all regards in honesty

don't forghetti you have mutliple combinations oyster/jubilee fluted/smooth too and to up your chances you need more dial colors too
why go black if going for these ones? most boring shit like all sports models
go green/blue/that gay grey dial that people love but is ugly as fuck if you gonna flip it later
anything but black, you might aswell buy a sub if going black

I live in a watchmaker desert, only guy I could get a quote from said it would be $430 because apparently the 6r15 mainspring is ridiculously hard to source. Seiko quoted me $100 less and that included replacing the deeply scratched bezel which is also nearly impossible to source anywhere else. At least it seems to be keeping time way better than before. Was a ridiculous +30 a day and the power reserve was fucked.

well, oyster/smooth for op (obviously) and jubilee/fluted for dj are my choices.
I might go for blue, too, especially for the dj. or if the op36 was available in white I could also go for that.
I guess I'm just boring.

Casio Duro MDV-106 yes, but remember to hunt down the older ones that still have a marlin on the dial and the back of the case. The newest series that launched a couple of years ago had to ditch the merlin because of some licence running out. There are more colors for MDV-107, but I think them no longer being Marlin Duros takes away some of the charm.

Jeez. I must have gotten really lucky then, i serviced my Weekdater twice, once for 100€ which included mainspring cleaning (so a complete disassembly and reassembly), straightening out the hands, lubricating and (shitty) regulating, and once for 40€ which included a couple of screws (that the first guy somehow missed), regulating (much better this time) and a new crystal. Runs like a charm now.

David Scott wore it on the surface of the moon during his third EVA of Apollo 15 after his government issued Omega failed, he'd brought it with him as a backup, it was a prototype at the time. It's not an homage to a speedmaster, it's very much it's own thing, it happens to look similar to the speedmaster since it was designed to meet the same requirements. If you want to call it an homage, then it would be an homage to that original flight used prototype.

It was half the price, better water resistance, and 40mm vs 36mm. I’d prefer a 24 if it was cheaper but this shit isn’t worth 700 bucks. Also this model is pre-invicta :)
