On the flipside

You are a lazy NPC if you can't perceive a person more than the physical. Personality, history, vibe are more important. So if you're just caught up on looks you might be a dumb thot.

Yes
Be careful because the opposite is also true - if you overdress, you'll come off as self-centered and egocentric. Your best dress is a balance between the two in the right setting, and at its best if you can dress well enough to stand out, while not contrasting against everyone else's appearance.

No, this is a shallow way to look at other people. Literally judging books by their cover which I'm pretty sure everyone can agree is retarded.

>> No.17817341

>>17817251
It's a wholistic way to look at other people. Yours is a reductive way, to think that someone's exterior and interior life could be separated into different modules, one of which is deep and rich, the other shit. Why would that be the case? A person is one whole organism inside and out. Every aspect of them reflects the truth of what they are

What's wrong with judging an author's book by their cover? Some of the best authors were also sexy people in their time. Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, Thomas Carlyle, Herman Melville, these were sexy sexy DILF's! We all know Camus was a playboy. Kathy Acker and Donna Tartt are a pair of fine looking tarts too. Virginia Woolf is built like the skinny mover from the Dire Straits - Money for Nothing music video so she must be one of the bad authors.

Why would anyone willingly want to look bad? Nice things look nice. Being in a clean and beautiful environment is good for your psyche. No one wants to live in a run-down shithole. Same goes for your appearance. My consciousness is stuck in this body for my entire time here, might as well try to make it look nice and run properly.

Yes, but generally if something smells like shit it will taste like it. Most of the time, our snap judgements aren't wholly incorrect; it's part of how we survived.
Someone who is so ugly that they cannot possibly fix it, I think you have to be suspicious of.

Your judgments are molded by the bought msm and astroturfed social media in this era lol. Even worse, by corporations. It tells you trannies and feminists uphold society lmao.

Unless you are extremely discerning or Christian. Your judgments cannot be trusted.

Nah. Good looking people don't care about looks because they take it for granted.

It's the 5/10s who are caught up in lookism because they don't want to be lumped in with the have-nots

was a bit hard to get adjusted to her way of writing as an esl, but i got used to and uckily have a good english vocabulary. Any other english written books you can recommend that are written in a similar way? I liked the dreamlike feel of it and the beautiful descriptions and insights in peoples minds.

Mrs Dalloway ofc is good but is slow at parts. afaik the best books for dreamlike will be Modernist authors, because the style of "stream of consciousness" came about with that literary movement in Europe. /lit/ would give better recs I haven't read much modernist literature. nice reading it as esl though.

In my experience, that is often the case. You can dress trashy but still look nice. Hair is fixed, your clothes aren’t a wrinkled mess and are clean, you aren’t a filthy pig, shit like that. So, yeah, I agree.

The nugget of truth here is that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they look. It's more complicated than that, but the essential truth is there.
