It depends on what you mean by "pinnacle of watchmaking." If you're talking about the complexity and refinement of movements and complications, no. If you're talking about innovations in watchmaking technology or setting new trends in the industry, no. If you're talking about making a really robust watch with timeless designs that last forever, sure. Plus all of their shit is made in house and their history and the fact that their marketing pivot from high end tool making company to luxury fashion company was the model that basically saved the entire Swiss watchmaking industry from getting shitcanned during the quartz crisis shows their legacy and history of being able to adapt and compete in the market. They happen to be the most popular and noteworthy watch companies while also having the most interesting history.

I bought one of these Pagani 36mm Daydate homages recently just to see how good or bad a $90 daydate could be, also because I want a Rolex Daydate and I'm coping with not being able to afford it so I need alternatives. I've been wearing it for a few days and I really don't know how I feel about it but I think I mostly enjoy it?

>Machining appears to be pretty inconsistent, particularly on threaded parts. Two of the bracelet links seems to be inseparably joined by a screw pin that threads out about half way and then just spins forever and never backs all the way out. I'm not totally sure how that would even happen. Also the crown is threaded but no matter how much I tighten it the crown always feels like it could tighten just a little more so I'm concerned about stripping it.
>The font of the day looks good but the numbers on the date wheel are thin and spaced out, the goofiest thing about it is that on the number 11 with the cyclops and big white space in the middle of the surrounding dial color it looks like Bomberman's face
