Not bad at all, which really surprised me bc I was told the same and was preparing for the worst. I especially expected the kneecap to be really senstive but it was the least sensitive part in fact, I think bc the skin is more leathery though ymmv. My tattooist was really surprised too, she had planned to do it in 2 sessions but we finished it in one go. For the large black parts she eventually switched to the largest magnum needle she had and those parts on the side of the knee were spicy I have to admit

Thx m8, it's one of my favourites too, my artist suggested that it should have been larger but in hindsight it was a great decision as it left enough space for the panther. Still, she was kind of right in a way, it's a design that deserves a larger space but oh well. Maybe I'll just get another one if I really want to. I'm interested in the tattoo style that the Yakuza use, effectively a cut-off suit of tattoos not visible in normal clothes and carrying a lot of personal meaning, with symbolism representing your story/path. At least, that's the impression I've gotten.
Are there any good examples of westerners doing something like this without the traditional Japanese motifs (oni, dragon, samurai, etc)? I would be interested to see one large, thematically coherent piece over the mixed collection of smaller pieces that a lot of people end up with.
I hadn't really considered tattoos for myself until I saw those pictures of Yakuza, but I'm not planning to larp like that.
