Which scent for a Goth Club?

typical clubing frags i know are to fruity and normie for this kind of club.

Typical "dark" stuff i know is to heavy for a crowded and Hot place

>> No.17651670

Terror & Magnificence or A City on Fire. Other Beaufort London fragrances are pretty goth too. Like Coeur or Rake. People say Hermann A Mes Cotes Me Paraissait Une Ombre but I haven't tried it yet. Don't be cringe by wearing a leather fragrance. Also I'm not sure what you're calling a goth club, because these days it's only leather and BDSM fetishists, industrial faggots, or electronic music drug addicts.

>> No.17651688

clubs are the perfect space to wear heavy fragrances though. could go for Oud Wood if you want something lighter, but I'd go for something with leather. Ombre Leather or Dior Homme Parfum

My JPG Le Male EDT has a dick's measure of perfume left so I panic bought Le Beau EDP. Did I do good? I liked the smell at the store and was looking for a more sweeter and summery smell than Le Male. Informal situations are what it'll be mostly used at, so in that sense I made a good choice. Summer nights at outdoor clubs with a collared shirt with top buttons undone, etc.

For real?
I’ve been meaning to pull the trigger on some Fougere samples, but I mostly wear scent to smell good to other people, so I’ve held back. Not sure what the zoomettes will think of classic ’80s vibes haha
That said, I have one of those goofy plastic bottles of Brut “cologne” from the drugstore, and that shit smells so good to me. Cannot explain why, but it’s just got a vibe to it. I go noseblind really easily, so idk how good the performance is, but the scent is really fun while I notice it.
Thoughts on Drakkar and Cool Water? I want to try samples of GIT, Beau de Jour, etc, but I’m a bit light on cash and I’d hate to find out that I really desperately want a $300 fragrance that I can’t afford lmao

>How's that hilarious?
because culturally and artistically speaking, sauvage is total trash. it’s a literal sugar bomb designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and it’s not even original at it. at least bleu de chanel pioneered blue ambroxan bombs, and you could probably say its aromatic fougere equivalent could be paco rabanne or azzaro pour homme, both of which are rightfully revered as masterpieces in their genre. the idea of sauvage (and therefore drakkar noir) being treated similarly is completely antithetical to their lack of originality and the kind of crowds they attract to begin with, like trying to compare rachmaninoff to tchaikovsky.
>Once the Sauvage craze blows over and people move onto the next thing, it will just be treated like Drakkar Noir
my point exactly. the way people in this thread treat drakkar noir today is exactly how people will treat sauvage in 2060, which is a funny but inevitable twist of fate. in the distant future, “mature” men will wear sauvage to remind women in their 20s and 30s of their fathers (assuming someone who wears sauvage would even stick around), which is damn hilarious.

That literally means nothing? What do you mean by "culturally" - a mass marketed crowdpleaser by a designer house that was intended to be mass marketed, like almost every designer ever? Artistically, it's fine. It perfectly does what it was intended to do. There was nothing that smelled like it before (and no, it's not close to Bleu, at all), so it's absolutely original enough as well.
Your entire ramblings appear to be nothing but the product of personal hatred towards a specific fragrance, devoid of any actual analysis of the fragrance.

>What do you mean by "culturally" - a mass marketed crowdpleaser by a designer house that was intended to be mass marketed, like almost every designer ever?
no, i mean the culture around the kind people who wear the fragrance, and therefore the public image and personality the fragrance takes on through its wearers. should be pretty self-explanatory with that context in mind.
>Artistically, it's fine. It perfectly does what it was intended to do. There was nothing that smelled like it before (and no, it's not close to Bleu, at all), so it's absolutely original enough as well.
drakkar noir doesn’t smell close to azzaro pour homme either, but both are fundamentally aromatic fougeres and both have the same forms at their core structure. jicky doesn’t smell anything like fougere royale, but again they’re both classical fougeres, and jicky wouldn’t exist without fougere royale. bleu and sauvage are exactly the same, and without bleu sauvage (and arguably every other ambroxan bomb) wouldn’t exist.
>Your entire ramblings appear to be nothing but the product of personal hatred towards a specific fragrance, devoid of any actual analysis of the fragrance.
i can hate the culture and artistic prevalence of something without that affecting my opinion of the actual thing in question. cool water has been run into the ground through endless copying and iteration which totally destroys the culture surrounding it, but i still like and wear cool water.

just because bleu doesn’t focus as much on ambroxans as sauvage doesn’t mean it isn’t the original ambroxan bomb. it’s like arguing that jicky isn’t a fougere because the emphasis is more on synthetic vanilla mixtures (including coumarin) and less on lavender.

So yeah it's pretty great as you said, but to be honest why would anyone ever get this? To be fair the mint is really top tier and how mint should smell like, and the other notes do a good job of making it more interesting and not just minty, but at the end of the day it's similar to just chewing orbit gum. I guess it's the best mint fragrance I've ever tried if anyone is into hat. For the Summer I'd definitely go for Hermann though. That's the only reason I got the discovery set anyways. I just can't tell if I should put it in the top tier in the excel yet, because I need to try it for an entire day on skin. People are saying that it's allegedly goth and what a vampire would smell like I suppose. It's the rare fresh and floral fragrance I like. Thankfully it doesn't have any citrus to ruin it. How is Cool Water? Appeal to women would be a big priority, not gonna lie. I’m pretty new to fragrances and not looking to spend a ton so the price is also pretty appealing.

>>17652887
>brut is a powdery Fougere
A. What do people mean by powdery? I always assumed they meant like talcum powder, but I mostly just smell green and this kind of creamy undertone.
2. I’m a bit embarrassed by it, but I do genuinely enjoy Brut lmao. Is there any likelihood that this would appeal to the broader 21-35 year old population? I know we’re supposed to wear cologne for ourselves, but I go nose blind easily so I’d rather prioritize smelling good to other people. What scenarios would I wear this in? Seems like it might be a bit much on a hot summer day, but idk other than that.
Additionally, does it genuinely perform like garbage, or am I just going nose blind super fast?
>Drakkar, Cool Water, et Al are doing a different Fougere vibe
For the moment, I’ll skip GIT and BdJ because I’m a broke boy who wants to focus on other spending.
Are Drakkar and Cool Water worth trying out? I got a lil bottle of DN a few years ago for an ‘80s Halloween costume, and I liked it a good amount, but idk if it got good reactions from people. I was also fat and more awkward back then, so that didn’t help lol.
Slightly off topic, but getting back to being lean, or getting lean for the first time, just makes everything so much better.

Specific questions aside, got some general questions too.
Context - I’m a 28 year old white dude, pretty tall, slim build. Looking for stuff that won’t come off like a teenager desperately trying to seem cool, but also won’t be something that a 45 year old lawyer would wear.
I’m looking to get a more real rotation going, ideally frags that are mass-appealing, but also won’t be the exact same thing that every other dude is wearing this month.
The only real ones I have atm are:
>Voyage
Wear this to the beach/park/etc and a couple sprays at the gym, not much to say here. I like better than VPH, haven’t tried many other freshies
>Eros Flame
Genuinely like this, might be too juvenile. Much better than regular Eros. my friend says it smells like Burt Reynolds, which I took as a compliment, but idk if it was meant that way lmao
>Drakkar
Liked it, not sure if it got great reactions, but I was depressed and chubby the last time I wore it.
>CK Shock
Bought on a whim because $8, kinda odd. Smells like chocolate covered cherries to me, so idk when I’d wear it.
>Brut
Can’t explain why I like this, but it’s good as hell. When and where is this appropriate, and will I smell like a grandpa? Any alternatives that perform better, or do I need to just slap more on every 2 hours?
I know I need to lurk moar and buy samples, but some direction on what samples to try first would be appreciated.
Overall, just want to smell good to women desu, really pretty normie, but quite not enough to just buy Sauvage and move on with my life

They sell it in a plastic bottle for like $7 at my grocery store, so I bought some basically as a joke, but it legit smells good.
Performance isn’t great, and you have to shake it into your hand and slap it on your neck because there’s no atomizer, but I find it oddly compelling.
Not sure when or where I’d wear this as a 28 year old white dude, or if it’d even remotely appeal to 22-32 year old women. But, it makes me feel like Burt Reynolds, which is hilarious.

I have to, but then you'll see an equal number of people saying the original is fine.
All I can offer is my own experience and an observation on consumer habits. First, I've sampled both and the original performed better as confirmed by people around me. They also preferred the smell by a decent margin.
Second, think of how dumb the average consumer is and how driven they are to BUY NEW THING. Would it surprise you to learn that influencers would shill the intense version as being better than the original with the companies knowledge and blessing to do so? People that like the original will continue to do so. People on the fence will now have a reason to buy the new one. And the influencer looks less like a company shill if they try and make it look like a companies old product isn't as good anymore.

I realize this seems tinfoil hat level but if you take a step back and get a feel for trends and what's being hyped when it makes more sense.

SOTD: Quorum
This one is very interesting. Starts off with a strong blast of citrus, a sour and mildly sweet scent that immediately screams "masculine frag". As the opening dissipates, it settles down to a dark green scent, aromatic and kind of bitter, that smells exactly like how the bottle looks in a way. I'd say it's borderline musty, definitely evocative of its age. Typical fougere notes poke through the dark green cloud but not too strongly, and either I'm going noseblind or the projection is rather disappointing.
But to my surprise, after a couple hours, the scent opens up to reveal much more brightness and clean soapy sweetness, like a flower that spreads its leaves and blooms. There's a bit of musk and spices in the base, as well as a calming tobacco note, like when you smell a good quality cigar right before smoking it. I seriously didn't expect this to have this much complexity.
The performance still seems to be less than great but I can always just spray more and start the complex process of this scent's development once again. This is probably gonna become my favorite office frag and it's ridiculously cheap.

I also tried the sample of Polo OG I bought along with this, and just like with Dakar and Lord earlier, I'm much less pleased with that one. Feel like it deserves one more chance.

>What? I'm not wearing any leather clothing? Uhhh I smell like leather though that's so cool!!!

That's so retarded and if you don't see why you have low IQ. Imagine paying for any fragrance just to smell like one singular thing, that's also not a natural scent a you'd have anyways. Leather is a supplementary note and if your fragrance is just leather you're a retard.

>>17654439
>any frag with a leather note because

Here's a prime example of some midwit with IQ measured in the 80s. Reads a negative opinion that contradicts his NPC teachings and immediately does into shock and terror because his pee brain can't comprehend the logic behind something this simple. Making shit up and moving the goalposts. This is the type of retard from reddit that sprays ombre leather on himself and thinks he's Neo from the Matrix. You can type an entire essay with arguments and explanations on why his taste is objectively shit, but his small brain will focus and tunnel vision on "he said my fragrance is bad" and start shitting himself.

>why do fragrances like Encre Noire or Guerlain Pamplelune not make you sperg out as well

Because they don't smell like one thing literally and exactly, and if they're one note dominant, it's a note than makes sense. Like women back in the day before perfumes walking around with a rose or some other flower braided in their hair. And ombre leather is literally just leather. It's trash. There are so many great fragrances with leather notes in them that don't make you smell like a leather factory you can choose from. If you choose ombre leather you're a drooling retard.

>you just have an irrational hatred and insults

Retard that's all you can say. I can give you a million examples as to why you're stupid, but you'll still revert to that, because you're too stubborn to admit your taste is shit, despite having zero arguments. Seething is not an argument by the way. Yes they're different. Retard you wouldn't cut a pineapple in half and smear it across your body to smell nice just like you wouldn't fill your pockets with grass to smell fresh. You'd invent perfume and use them as notes. If you want to smell like leather you'd put a leather jacket on. Then spray the nice fragrance your high IQ brain invented to compliment it. Only a literal ape would go "leder???? i will not wear my leder jacked but i will piss it into bottle and spray self :--DD!".

Obviously not, dumb single digit IQ retard, but it comes with it. Just like how you wouldn't smell like leather if you wore a tweed coat, and if you spray a literal chinese shoe store fragrance with that then grats, you smell like shit and you look goofy. I've smelled many more fragrances than you, and I can say with confidence that if you choose ombre leather over any other balanced fragrance with a leather note in it, you are literal ape. You're clearly too used to your reddit hugbox and have never faced any criticism in your entire life. The moment someone challenges your NPC worldview, your brain gives out an error. You have zero arguments and you've continued to ignore everything I've told you and resorted to seething because it made you mad.

Reminder that before I go outside I spray myself with Hermann and then put on my suede shirt and leather jacket. Bitches come up to my neck to feel my scent and to whisper how they want me to breed them. You spray ombre leather before putting your blue Razer t-shirt on and bitches look at you and die laughing.
