People will eventually have closets full of appropriate clothes so it is necessary to use marketing to get them to voluntarily ditch their wardrobe, often just with "You don't want to look like this" tier marketing or influencers. Suits peaked when offices peaked. We have passed peak office and so all the impracticalities of suits are relevant again. If you're not in a reliably temperature and humidity controlled environment doing zero physical activity then a suit is simply not going to work and there is little reason to even own one considering how rare weddings and funerals are that you could just rent. Wearing a suit for fun is mentally ill.

If I'm not expected to wear one to work by my employer or clients, I usually find it's not worth the trouble. Suits have to be dry cleaned all the time, they're hot during the summer unless you're into seersucker or linen, etc. I much prefer wearing chinos and a button-down, maybe throwing on a blazer and tie every now and again, to when I had to wear suits everyday even though I like wearing suits occasionally.
