What do I need to care for my boots?
>Old cotton t shirt (one for cleaning, another for applying conditioners)
>Horsehair brush ($10-15)
>Wooden shoe trees ($10-15)
>Light conditioner like Lexol/Bck4/renovateur
>Heavy conditioner (if you live in terrible snow/rain areas) Sno seal/Obernauf LP
>Don't forget that boots need time to dry properly, rotate them and don't wear them daily for too long

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.

I need help fitting myself for pic related. How do i go about it? Would getting my usual boot size be fine? This boot actually has sizes 12.5 and 13.5 which is why im wondering. For reference im usually between 12 and 13 since i have wide feet.

They feel pretty good, the heel + arch thing is not a meme and my feet actually DO feel better wearing them.
My biggest problem is that I was told to order half size down and they would be plenty roomy, they are in the toes, but the ball of my foot is too small. It's pooching over the welt along the ball of the foot.
It fits so nicely everywhere else. How much will lined Suede conform over time? I could get them stretched, I guess. I don't want to return them because they are the nicest 'dress' shoes I own.
The pic I was going to post turned out to be shit and out of focus, so here's the shoe regardless.

For $200 the best you're going to get are low-quality GYW or better quality cement construction shoes, I suggest Carolina, Thorogoods, or CAT. Georgia Boot is a nice runner up at that pricepoint but only some of their boots.

What I would do if I had a $200 budget is head over to Sportsman's Guide and look at their surplus military boot lineup. Milsurp boots are generally pretty high quality if you can stand looking like a LARPer. The German Jungle Boots and Marine RAT boots are generally considered to be very nice footwear.

i sometimes had the feeling that my pinky toe was stepping on the welt in my whites in the left boot, because that foot is slightly wider than the right one
it went away pretty quick once the boot got broken in a bit
this was in the area covered by the toe cap with celastic (sue me unstructured autists) in waxed flesh, which is notoriously stiff and hard to break in, so suede should be no problem
the pinky wasn't actually over the welt, it was just rubbing a bit, something about whites construction just mimics the impression of stepping on the welt i think
so if your foot doesn't actually bulge over the welt it's probably nothing, but if it's happening 100% of the time and the shoes are uncomforatable on your feet you should return them
that being said the fit of the shoe is determined first and foremost by the width and the length doesn't really matter
if it's a matter of the leather giving in a bit, then yes it will

Tricker's came today.
No clue why they were sold at 250GBP at the outlet, literally zero imperfections.
Sizing as expected TTS, same size as in most C&J and EG72. Lots of volume in the instep though, not sure what to think of that.
Dainite sole but so far a lot more comfortable than my 'bergs on dainite, always thought it was the vibergs being shit not dainite.
trickersoutlet has some insane deals.

Fully lined. All Taft boots are, probably because of the odd construction.

But, it's no-name rubber so I can't vouch for the quality. Me personally, I'm going to resole to Vibram minilug when they wear down enough

I don't like how these lace up. I like the distance between the quarters to be even, but my new Grant Stones get way closer towards the top. I looked up pics on Instagram, and other people's look normal. Do they just need to break in, or is this how my pair just are? Do I have baby ankles? None of my other boots look like this laced up. It doesn't really bother me, just curious.

Vibergs are by far the most uncomfortable, but they are also by far the heaviest. They're also the only boots.

But even still, the other two are just as dangerous and slippery on wet floors.
