Is there any merit to this? I've always had a soft spot for this 70s kind of look

I thought it might be kinda sleazecore but who knows. I didn't really think of this as something that anyone would take serious as daily wear, but figured it was worth asking about

It would be sleazecore now but for its time it would've been only just out of style. It's an overall good winter fit if you live in a large city, but I wouldn't wear it in any other area or season.

Most uniqlo u the past few years has been 70s inspired, or just lemaire. Not as hard as you'd think.

Blade Runner 2049 is fashion wise more compatible with our times and easier to pull off

unlike the original Blade Runner, that features outfit that might elicit a smile if you met someone in such clothes in real life.

Why did they opted for such ridiculously wide trousers? Thank God, Blade Runner is shot with so much shadows to hide these monstrosities.

doesn't /fa/ shit on uniqlo for a reason? I thought their whole selection was low-quality and not worth it
>>17432062
>>17432078
True. I guess the original costumes appealed to me more because I generally enjoyed 70s/80s fashion a little more than stuff today. 2049 seems way more minimalist which doesn't appeal to me. Point taken wrt compatibility though
>>17432085
Not well versed w/ fashion history but probably has to do with whatever fashion scene they took inspiration from? /shrug

I think you could adapt elements from this, just not all of it at once. It's hardly as if geometric patterned shirts, skinny ties, and winter coats with a lot of pockets/toggles are unheard of in modern fashion.

yeah, you can really get most of that shit on eBay.
for bowties, just look for clip on bowties or bowtie lots, most of them are already in that sort of thin style with quirky designs
weird quirky frock coats and tuxedos are always being sold by some formalwear ex-hire store on eBay too
geometric shirts too
waistcoats will be harder to find, but they're easier to find on eBay's uk variant (ebay.co.uk) than in the US
hope this helped.
