Alright I'll bite.

This is surprising very in line with what I would like to curate my wardrobe into, however I very much am ignorant to the kinds of brands that truly represent neofolk. I'm not really into thrifting and I have no idea where the nearest milsurp store is in my city, but I REALLY want to buy more trousers like pic related and those shown in your pic. Same with some good quality thick knits.

I'm currently looking at a lot of Japanese brands for knitwear right now and came across these sweaters from Batoner. If anyone can recommend anything similar that would be cool.

What exactly *does* neofolk mean in fashion terms? I tend to see it as a visual extension of the music (which I consider a rather hazy spectrum between experimental folk and industrial), but I don't think I could name any specific brands that consistently put out anything in line with what I would consider neofolk. I don't think it's really palatable enough to become a mainstream subculture either, so I doubt we'll see any major "neofolk" fashion lines that aren't coincidental.

With that said, I would be thrilled if any anons want to prove me wrong.

Pic rel is size 2, the smallest size you can realistically find. I am 6'1 170lb and the coat is fucking huge.

You absolutely can wear Neofolk without it being a larp. My advice? No jackboots, trenchcoats or hats. Nothing very overtly military, subtle stuff like puttees are okay. Wear wool, unbleached cotton muslin and linen. Only bright colors or designs (no ww2 german patches or similar stuff ffs) should be traditional folk designs like in picrel, though obviously full folk costume is just also a larp so one item max imo.

That’s Neovolk. Neovolk is the much more nazi version with lots of SS camo and pagan vibes.
Neofolk is more subtle and really is just 1920s through 1940s military/outerwear.Granted, the two people with the most influence on Neofolk fashion are Douglas P. of Death in June who of course is very much inspired by oldschool brace and boots skinheads as well, being that’s he’s British, and Odinist/WN/Murderer/Autist Varg Vikernes who integrates more modern Russian milsurp.

You could similarly incorporate items from cossack clothing like in picrel, that doesn’t mean that cossack clothing is neofolk.
