What do I need to care for my boots?
>Old cotton t shirt (one for cleaning, another for applying conditioners)
>Horsehair brush ($10-15)
>Wooden shoe trees ($10-15)
>Light conditioner like Lexol/Bck4
>Heavy conditioner (if you live in terrible snow/rain areas) Sno seal/Obernauf LP
>Don't forget that boots need time to dry properly, rotate them and don't wear them daily for too long

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.

So the good news:
Bonafe 363mod last is very good for me. I really like this last and it's a great fit.
Finishing seems perfect? I can't find any issues at all. Not sure if this is the norm for Bonafe or if they pay special attention to shell shoes/boots.
Ridgeway sole is probably the best rubber sole I've ever tried. I even stepped on wet marble today, no issues. With dainite I'd have broken something. It also seems very hard, I hope that means longevity. But it's also comfy.

The bad news:
It's very flashy. People in the office talked about my boots. They asked me if I shined them, and I didn't want to say "actually it's a special HORSE ASS leather made in Chicago" so I said "yeah" and then they said "military style" and I left it at that.
It doesn't crease, and that makes it look different from all other shoes when worn. It draws attention especially to any area where the fit isn't perfect.
Shell is quite rigid. The boots are comfy, but the shaft actually presses against the side of my ankles. I guess that's why a lot of people do "field boots" in shell cordovan with a shaft made of suede or peccary (or shark).

Basically, a big yes for Bonafe, and I'm happy I got one of my grail boots (color 8 shell bonafes) but I probably don't want any more shell boots.

Does handwelted mean they have no cork?
I think Bonafe does all the stitching by hand even the outsoles (but I could be mistaken)

Not necessarily, but it makes it more feasible.
The best solution for no cork is still stitchdown, because the upper is flared out instead of tucked under the insole, creating a void that has to be filled.

Going to be using these at my work at the highway (really damn cold and rainy winters with no snow), will they last me? Most of my work is indoors , but they will be exposed to climate every now and then. Any thing I should consider about their maintenance?

Dainite soles? They're sturdy but I don't know about traction if you're dealing with ice.
If those are purely work boots and you don't care how they look, you could put a thick coat of mink oil on them to keep water out. It will stain them dark however.

Yeah luckily I won't be dealing with ice that often, delicate areas will be pretty much covered with salt.

They are not just for work, I'm going to wear them at work so they pick up some character, they will end up being for casual wear. Just don't want to ruin them until they are unusable outside work.
