I would not blind buy it unless you know you like this kind of fragrances.
To me it is very similar to the EDT and apparently it is also a great performer. It's a classic, outdated if compared to modern parfumes, sure, but I never cared for what zoomers think.

Creamy lemon start, resinous-woody drydown. Slightly powdery but in a dusty way, not like makeup powder. It doesn't even smell outdated in the sillage, just very masculine, but it certainly isn't "modern", either. It's hard to describe and when you smell it you realize what I mean. Don't blind-buy unless you got a thing for this type of frag. Le 3e Homme de Caron is probably the closest in my collection (in terms of scent), but isn't that close at all.

Like the other anon said, it's a fougere. Smells classy, confident, fresh, and to me it is very pleasant and inoffensive. I used mine whenever I needed some confidence like at job interviews and such.

Projection and sillage are moderate so someone has to get close to you to smell it. Performance is kinda bad for the price, around 4-5 hours. Still I can't hate it, it's very good and brings back pleasant memories.

People insist clone brands are good because they haven't tried the original
>ive never smelled oud wood but
Or sunk cost fallacy
>the opening is different but the drydown is 80% the same
Or because they are too poor to buy the original and think they are smart for buying a clone instead
>i don't see why people would waste money on tom ford when this is totally fine
In very rare circumstances there are good clones that smell more like the vintage version of what they are cloning than the current real release does but it's exceptionally rare.
I sid to stay away from oud for glory because the fragrance its cloning isn't any good.

>what should i expect to pay for a decent 100ml perfume?
this is an ill-defined question; the price of a fragrance is dependent on multiple factors (house, hype, how long it's been on the market etc.) and what your expectations are for a fragrance (age, what occasions you use it for etc). I'd consider BI a "decent" perfume, which costs around 70ish euros a bottle, but if you are looking for a "decent perfume" for more formal occasions, you might need to switch house to something more expensive.

>> No.17227643

1 ml = ~10 sprays give or take, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on atomiser
100ml = ~1000 sprays - spray 5 times a day each day and it'll last you 200 straight days, at 3 sprays a day roughly a year
This is a hugely variable factor on how much you need to spray given the frag's strength, how much the atomiser sprays and how many other fragrances you have in rotation and so on. If you only have a singular fragrance that you spray everyday at high amounts you might need 200ml a year. Otherwise expect it to last a considerable amount of time. There is also the fact that there can be some evaporation of fragrances. This is noticeable in some brands and bottles more than others. So you might lose a slight amount to that as well.

In terms of price I will say that I do not really want to pay more than £3 per ml. There are fantastic compositions that amount to £1-2 per ml. So in essence I am willing to spend around £200 on a fragrance if it is a decent size. However, if it is a higher concentration I am willing to accept less as I will need to spray less. Again, variable, but I am under the opinion that spending more than £200 is getting into luxury brand bullshit. I typically spend up to around £100 and will opt for a smaller bottle, a 30ml for example, as I have enough in rotation that I will likely not use up the fragrance quickly. I like some of prin's fragrances but dislike the idea of paying over 100 for a 30ml, which is firmly in the £3 and up per ml price range and thats just his cheaper line.

If anyone is interested found this, this company seems pretty decent, there are alibaba listings as well but idk if I trust their specs to be super accurate or the product to be any good. Generally it seems to be listed from a low end of 0.06 to the highest I found at 0.11 per spray. This pic shows 0.07 and 0.08 and shows the atomisers on some bottles, they don't seem super small. At the lowest end you could spray 16 times for 1ml and at the higher end around 9 times. Designers likely have different suppliers and different ratings so its hard to tell without getting each individual set of product codes and data sheets how much they truly spray.

And that's basically it, if you ask me, but I haven't tried any of the oud offerings (I don't like that note). Masculin Pluriel is not available for the sampler set. Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait is worth buying as a sample to give it away. Amyris Homme was nothing new and is certainly not worth the price, although it's acceptable. 724 is boring.

I looked into Guerlain l'Homme Ideal edt and edp, and I love them both, maybe edp is a bit more sweet and more strong due to the cherry, with the edt feeling creamier and smoother. I also tried noir extreme the original and really enjoyed it, but wanted to try the recently released perfume to see how it compares. I was also quite the big fan of Replica Jazz Club. Im not sure which one of these I want to buy or if I should try and get a hold of Noir Extreme Parfum first if you guys think it's particularly good. LMLP is good and a good date frag. It's acceptable for summer as well, although maybe not the hottest days. For me it works every day (even on the hottest days), but maybe you want to be more subtle on a date.
Blue frags are safe frags and give a freshly cleaned sort of vibe. Not very sensual in that regard, but they still smell good. You could just wear Jazz Club, since in reality most people only have one frag and they wear it whenever they feel like wearing a frag, no matter the weather or season.
If you check on fragrantica, you will see that most stuff that is associated with "spring" and "summer" is usually also associated with "day". Marketing has ruined the brains of fragheads with preconceived notions about what can be worn when. Personally, I had great success with "warm spicy" frags in summer (LMLP, YSL LNDL Bleu Electrique, Uomo Signature, Sauvage Elixir, Armani Code, etc.).

Mostly on price-tracking websites here in Germany. Best discount I've seen was ~111€ for 70 mL of Gentle Fluidity Silver in July 2022.
Overall, it's very much a masculine but not aggressive frag. It is, however, rather fresh and clean, as "summer"-type fragrances usually go. It does have amber to smoothen it and make it more sensual, but it's also classy. Check the fragrantica reviews, since the frag is hard to describe and it is best described by the feeling it gives.

Encre Noire and Encre Noire a l'Extreme are the best cheap "gothic" frags by far. Gucci Guilty Absolute could also be interpreted as a bit gothic since it's very smoky, leathery and dry to the bone, but it's a love or hate kind of frag, very harsh and in your face

I've totally worn Pure Havane in the summer. It was even hot. But warm spicy frags work the best in summer, so I prefer those.

I've said it before, most people own a single bottle and wear it whenever. That's how my friends did it, straight up in the summer. It was awesome and I decided to see for myself. Post the most underrated frag you've tried and explain why it's underrated.

For me it's Voyage d'Hermes (EDP). It's literally the perfect unisex scent, fit for all occasions and seasons, but nobody talks about it. Performance could be better but it's not garbage like a lot of Hermes frags. It's a floral spicy fresh scent that perfectly encapsulates a kind of relaxed elegance. Definitely the underdog in Hermes' lineup.

>> No.17231182

>>17231157
yeah I've reccomended Voyage on here a bit. I still like Terre a bit more personally, but I think Voyage is the safer pick for more people and it's odd that no one really talks about it

it's the perfect summer floral chypre in the vein of Eau Sauvage and at a great price
>Oud Malaki
is also underrated outside of this thread - such a great spicy sweet tobacco fragrance, much better than most of the more hyped releases in this genre IMO. has a bit in common with the slightly more hyped costume national homme too, no wonder since they're by the same perfumer
I guess

Dunhill Icon. Good fragrance, a modernized white floral for men. The fruityness (which is actually just a juniper accord) makes it very pleasing to everyone. The bottle has a great feel to it, it's heavy and covered in what I assume galvanized plastic, giving it a nice metal feel. Might also be real metal, haven't really tested that. Great longevity on clothes. Cheap. Overall it might just be a little too tame, but then again that makes it a perfect daily driver.

My friends were wearing Armani Code and Boss Bottled, amongst others, while we grilled at the beach in 35°C weather. I somehow never really noticed before, probably because I usually wear 40 sprays myself, but that day I was playing it safe with something somewhat fresh (and kinda weak) and everybody else just didn't give a fuck, because they don't know their fragrances are considered "winter" frags. Also they didn't care. Nobody cared. I didn't care.

honestly Margiela frags are kind of overpriced. they really shouldn't be more expensive than brands like Dior or Hermes, with a long heritage of perfume-making, in-house perfumers and a generally more serious in-house aproach to their perfume lines

that's very possible, I'm just saying the bottle you actually get might not be as good. L'Oreal frags are a lottery
>The 100ml DHI is only 10 euros cheaper than Jazz club
what I mean by "overpriced" is that they are overpriced for a L'Oreal designer brand that doesn't employ an in-house perfumer and generally doesn't develop their frags in-house
the big three designers at this price point (Hermes, Dior and Chanel) treat perfume-making far more seriously and put more effort into their perfume department, sourcing ingredients etc., so the price is more justified and the quality is more consistent
