The thin ones don't need as much time to break in to not look stiff, but the thicker leather does break in. And it's way more durable. I think your point is valid though. Made me reconsider the thinner options. Thanks Anon.

*The guy has to be fit and good-looking but also in a way conducive to this not looking like a costume on him.
*It has to fucking fit him properly. He's probably going to need to go through at least three jackets to find that. Jackets that will be 800-1200 new and not give up after the first one lives in his closet.
*He has to wear the shit out of it to break it in. No one wants to break in something like that anymore because it means hard wear for YEARS.
*If he's the kind of guy that would look cool in this - he's the kind of guy that would be repulsed by it. That guy is probably wearing "Sexcore" or some shit.
*The kind of guy that has the fashion knowledge and attention to detail to get a good fit on this is not wearing this jacket.

That jacket was my best drift to date, full leather, perfect size. Reduced to 30€ because the shop was closing down in a few days.

I say don't stress it a good leather jacket will find it's way to you, they last for ever and mf's keep dying. I've been looking for one in second hand shops for like 2 years until randomly stumbling over it on one of my lunch breaks.

But there are non-moto leather jackets. And these jackets have long transcended the motorcycle world. They don't even have pockets for the protectors you would wear in a cycling jacket.

Motorcycle style leather jackets are like fedoras. There's just a certain vibe and look that you gotta have for them to look natural. For a fedora unless you're part of the intalian mob or a hard boiled detective from a 1940s noire film you'll just look like a neckbeard. Unless you're James Dean or part of a biker gang if you show up with a biker jacket zipped up like that you're gonna stick out. Leather jackets are timeless. Personally I go with a brown leather bomber style jacket, flannel, faded band tee, some 5 year old Levi's, and some scuffed up doc marten work boots from when I worked in the oil field if I'm feeling more of a rugged look. Just like another poster said wearing carhart looks weird if you don't work a blue collar job. Wearing some pearl snaps, wrangler boot cuts and some cowboy boots looks out of place if you're not a cowboy. The list goes on and on. Find an aesthetic that works for YOU and YOUR lifestyle and you won't find people questioning you about what you're wearing.
