Vintage watches are fun but unless you get them for dirty cheap the hard part is establishing provenance. The watch in >>17134412 is most assuredly a franken, kitbashed from various factory and aftermarket parts.

If you like how it looks, great. Enjoy it. But if you're looking for even a mediocre example of a 6694, keep looking.

Hey guys, pretty new to these threads but I've watched a few watch related YouTube videos. Looking to get my first "real" watch, although I expect you'll call me poor. Trying to spend under 500, and I'm leaning towards Casio watches because of how much value you get at that price. Preference towards quartz, it will be my daily wear work watch and being accurate is important. If you can sell me on a mechanical go ahead, I'm not married to the below choices but they keep coming back up as contenders.
First watch is the CASIO OCEANUS OCW-S100-1AJF - I like the colorway of this, and the titanium is a plus because I don't really like heavy watches (I have a hueg Invicta that is just uncomfortable to wear). Only concern with this one is it's "youthful" looking and I already look pretty young, trying to not get mistaken for fresh out of high school if possible.
Second watch is the OCW-T200S-1AJF, this one is definitely a more mature piece and the dial looks nicer in my opinion. Unfortunately looks a little plain? Honorable mention for the OCW-T200S-2AJ however I'm not sure if it's too feminine a color and I'm looking for something I can wear with any outfit.

If you guys have any other suggestions I'll be happy to hear them. Pic related is what I bought because I couldn't decide on a watch. The timer function is actually pretty useful and i wish I could like chrono watches bit they always just look too busy to me.

It’s not too feminine at all. They also have a green one which looks nice. Browse the catalog at Sakura watches, I think that’s the cheapest place to get new ones.

They are a brand with history in the railroad and come from the exact area I live and grew up in, so having this in my collection would be a little piece of local history. CFB has ridiculously well-finished in-house movements, with independent certifications. I'm not at all saying that Swatch group can't make good movements, but you'll be getting a pretty much hand-assembled caliber from CFB.

i think that's a particularly tasteful homage to those early divers, and with the version IV you'd be getting an upgraded movement of the Miyota 90S5
one drawback might be the acrylic 'hessalite' crystal rather than sapphire, and of course there's the question of whether you're comfortable going for something designed to look older than it is
(not saying it's faux-tina, but it is borrowing quite heavily from those early rolex and blancpains)

A lot of (most? all?) Tudor's have non-rolex ESA movements. Remember, before 2007, Rolex Biel was an entirely separate company from Rolex Geneve, owned by the Heiniger family ( Hans Wilsdorf originally hired André Heiniger to get access to the entire output of Heiniger's Biel workshop's movements, but Wilsdorf and the foundation that followed didn't get ownership of Rolex Biel until 2007.) So putting an ETA movement in a tudor lowered costs and didn't interfere with the production of Rolex watches.
