> “One day I told her – and I still called her Madame – ‘What would seduce you if one was to make a perfume for you?’ and she told me, ‘I love jasmine, rose and sandalwood,’” Guerlain recalled. “And for once I started working like a nigger. I don’t know if niggers ever worked that hard,” he said.

Guerlain Coriolan
Guerlain eau de Guerlain
Want to share more about Guerlain.
Heritage and Jicky share a similar lavender note. Heritage and l’instant homme share a similar sandalwood note. vetiver extreme is the “young” version of vetiver without the tobacco note and with an incense note. Habit rouge is best in its edc form and is very interesting and of high quality. Habit rouge leau is the “young” version of habit rouge. It loses its leather and civet notes and keeps it clean throughout. Additionally, the rose is replaced with jasmine. Shalimar and habit rouge share the vanilla tonka dry down. Jicky, shalimar, and mitsouko are feminine fragrances by design but are passing as masculine. Shalimar extrait is very nice, the only problem is that a lot of people know it is a feminine fragrance. Mitsouko and derby share the oakmoss dry down. Coriolan is discontinued but is still readily available and is a great fresh fragrance with oakmoss.

Yesterday I posted in the previous thread about wanting a general all-purpose cologne as a 30 year old man with no clue. Well today I went to Sephora and it was as uncomfortably as expected but I walked out with pic related. They did not carry the Bleu Chanel and the poor teenage worker had no idea what the fuck Guerlain was. I sampled YSL L'homme and honestly it smelled like a women's perfume. I also sampled this gold bottle called 1 million or something. It was ok I guess.

I am satisfied with my purchase. Profumo is definitely something that I have smelled before. I enjoy the smell a lot and I can see myself wearing this. Hopefully it gets pussies wet worldwide.

Smart man, it's all bullshit and fraud but luckily most things that make it to a store like sephora smell good to most people, it's really hard to go to a store like that and buy something that smells bad.
Just understand you cannot rely on another bottle of the frag you bought smelling the same and lasting as long when you go to replace it in a few years. So either test it again in store and buy from that stores stock, or just pick something else instead.

First thing is it is crazy strong. You'll be able to smell it on clothes days later. It's a lot of tobacco, strong oud, and some wood, and a hint of vanilla. Like others have said, it can be harsh and synthetic but not so much as to be unwearable, so it comes off as a fragrance not to be taken too seriously. And I think that's correct, it's about being noticed due to it's nuclear performance, not the art of it. It's for a twenty-something man, trying to project a sense of sophistication, hoping to make it with college girls with daddy issues. Really only meant to be worn on cold winter days

For those of you who own Terre D'hermes EDT, what is your silage and longevity like? I got a sample recently and it has lasted on my skin for 6 hours so far. I like all parts of it from the initial spray to the dry down but I have to shove my nose into the parts where I sprayed to get any sense of the fragrance after about an hour.

Cool Water is pretty good, but for $100 you can get a lot more.

Club De Nuit Sillage. Silver Mountain Water clone that performs like a beast. Milestone is Millesime Imperial but also with beast mode performance.

Acqua Di Gio. Any of the flankers would do, including the original even though it's a little outdated.

Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli. Very clean barbershop scent. It's also fairly affordable.

Drakkar Noir. Absolutely classic in my opinion. Probably definitely outdated. I love it.

I've said it before and might sound like a shill at this point, but Carven L'Eau Intense is the longest-lasting freshie I own. No other freshie comes close to the longevity of it.
Most other freshies have a longevity problem in general, it seems like. Cool Water is great, but doesn't last, same with Drakkar Noir.
If you enjoy neroli fragrances, you could try Dunhill Icon. It doesn't last that long on skin, but I got quite some performance out of it on clothes.
Last but not least there's always Platinum Egoiste.

Best I can think of right now is F by Ferragamo, of which I had a free sample at some point. Or Uomo from Salvatore Ferragamo. It's hard to balance cheap, blue and not mainstream, so these two are the best I can think of.

Creed fragrances are unacceptably priced, I can get better fragrances (in my opinion) for way less. As a result, I stayed away from them.
PdM is within the border of what I'm willing to pay for smelly water, but I'd only ever consider them when they go on sale - and even then I have other frags I want to buy first.
The problem with Layton is that once you've smelled Detour Noir, whether it's the old fresh-spicy-apple batch or the newer boss-bottled-apple batch, you can't justify the price for it anymore.

Store your fragrances the same way that you would store wine. Cool, dry, dark place away from any light is the best for them.
Visible light has the energy to break chemical bonds and cause photochemical changes in perfumes, which negatively changes their scent.
Heat and humidity changes are also bad for them, effect the maceration rate and can damage the scent.
The simplest and best place to keep them is in a bedroom drawer. Bathrooms are the one of the worst.

Every fragrance I've tried that was supposedly "masculine" has never to me been able to match just the smell of gasoline and grease on my hands after working on an engine or something like that. As for Bleu get the EdP. Gio you should see what you like most, Gio EdT, Profumo or Profondo.
Profumo is usually rated best but in blind tests Profondo performs better, while both can be polarizing. Gio EdT is the inoffensive safe and cheaper choice.
