Go to a Goodwill and find things you thing make you look your age (you will have to wash the clothing and iron it yourself or take it to a dry cleaners). For slacks and shoes you'll need to buy them at an actual store, Belk is okay.

After you get a good feel of what your style is, THEN go out buy the high quality stuff. Personally, I still shop at Goodwill to see how well the items fit in my wardrobe before I go out and get one tailor made.

I feel like I have the opposite problem. I'm 24 and I feel like I've been dressing too maturely since I was 18. It's easy just get clothes that actually fit you in complimenting fairly muted colours and that's really about it. I just can't into dressing like a slob in a pastel hoodie and sweatpants or anything with graphics I feel like a bum if I do that. It has to happen by itself really. You pick up clothes over the years and slowly you start to dress differently and more "grown up". If you change your wardrobe in a month or so you will look like a larper no matter what, and you will probably not even wear most of the clothes because they just look wrong. If there's a dress code at work it's more of a costume when you think about it.
