Depends on the surface. Mine have the oil resistant cork soles and they're actually amazing on wet or oily hard surfaces. I bought mine when I worked at a shop that worked on race cars and did metal fab for them, rollcages etc., and we had slick epoxy floors that were always getting coolant, oil, etc. spilled on them, and my IRs were great for it. They're useless on soft surfaces though, and I've never tried ice but I'd imagine they're pretty bad there too.
That said they don't even seem to make the cork soles anymore, they've got Vibrams with a more normal tread now.
