Bros, finally. Been waiting for so long to test this meme-house. I've been critical of the way he carries his business but I'll try my best to assess it without any biases. However, for the price he asks it better be a life-changing fragrance. I've also recently tested a Rania J Indian oud fragrance so thankfully I have a point of reference for this natural ingredient (and what can you get at its pricepoint). I know that apparently his recent releases were not as good as the first two lines including Ottoman Empire but he should be way more experienced by now if Russian Adam is not simply a 7 day wonder.

My budget is irrelevant. I'll buy a cheapie if it smells nice, like the dearly departed Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Cologne. My collection's all over the place in terms of price.

Oh, I brought this one a long time ago in these threads. Great to see that it's making circles back.
>What is the male variation, i think theres a unisex one but im afraid of picking up the wrong one?
This is as male as Eau de Cologne gets. It's the blueprint of Colognes together with 4711. It also has such an interesting history
>Created in 1853 by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain, Eau de Cologne Impériale was the very first Eau de Cologne by Guerlain. Specially composed for the Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, it earned its creator the title of "Perfumer to His Majesty". Eau de Cologne Impériale was the first made-to-measure fragrance in perfumery, created upon special order of the Empress Eugénie to treat her migraines.
>The Empress enjoyed the exclusive use of this fragrance before giving her authorisation for it to be sold. On its label, it bears the symbol of the Empire with the coat of arms chosen by Napoleon: the eagle, the imperial crown and the sceptre.
>Its bottle bears a constellation of 69 bees, the symbol of the Empire and the emblem of the Guerlain family of "Eaux."
You can also notice that the top part of the bottle was inspired by the column standing at Place Vendôme. The first location of the Guerlain store and one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Paris. It's really a bottled piece of history. Imagine Creed or PdM having such a story to tell - they'd put it into every single marketing material, whereas for Guerlain it's just yet another chapter of many. The fact that you can get such gems so cheaply perplexes me.

Lush has surprisingly good stuff. Sarah McCartney used to work for them, so many of their frags and even probably some of their soaps and stuff are likely her work. I have Karma, Breath of God, and Tank Battle and they’re all great. Sun is very good too, though it’s a very simple scent. It’s probably the most realistic orange I’ve ever smelled. Literally smells like a freshly sliced orange on a wooden cutting board. That it. Just sliced oranges. Nothing else to it.

>It’s pretty cheap too, so I basically see it as an EDC, just something to spritz on for a little burst of freshness, y’know? Give it a try, it’s very snice.
Absolutely. I actually really appreciate short-lived beauty of EdCs. Guerlain's Imperiale (that I talked about above) and Bravanariz Silvestre (beautiful 100% natural coniferous EdC) are two of my favorite frags despite the fact that they are completely gone after about 30 minutes. I just spray them after waking up while washing teeth and they brighten my morning instantly. Then can apply some more substantial fragrance before leaving house without having to worry that the smells will mix. I think that EdCs are underappreciated these days when everyone chases BEAST PERFORMERS etc.

This is extremely true. Some fragrances simply work best as EdT or EdC but the market these days is pushing Intense, EdP and even Parfum.

It's fine when you're selling oudy gourmands, but the light, bright fragrances are left out in the cold.

>we called him a noselet and talked shit to him in a paternalistic way

>he failed miserably because it was plainly obvious who's behind all of that and no one was participating in his threads
>he got pissed off to the extreme and amplified sperging in the main threads
>the story with an anon's dead mum shows up
>suddenly there is plenty of mean-spirited messages that he tries hard to attribute to nichefags with whom he was on some made up in his mind war with
>given the nature of this individual you could've observed over last 2 (3) threads, I think no one should be surprised if would make up the dead mum story himself

You even haven't changed your sperg techniques lol. Can I ask you an honest question? What is it with your personal vendetta against this thread? I want to bully him. I want to give him wedgies, dunk his head in a toilet, stuff him in a locker, pull down his pants in front of some girls so they laugh at him. He’ll go home after and he’ll get no sympathy from his parents. His mom’s too out of it from day drinking and his dad calls him a little homo for crying. Eventually it’ll get so bad that he brings a gun to school and comes looking for me, but pusses out at the last moment because his dad is right, and I’ll beat his ass worse than ever before. He’ll go home and hang himself that day. No one will care.

That’s me. Im frankly disappointed. I asked you this question on a few different occasions and thought that maybe this time you could give some insight into your motivations. The reason it’s disappointing is because I expected something better from you but you are sadly just simply not intelligent enough to realise that your sperging is easy to read for everyone who has some ‘people’s skill’ and basic intelligence. Those who are new here will just be confused but eventually won’t care. While those who are not can pin down every single of your posts in this thread and it’s quite a pathetic sight. Instead of having a potentially interesting conversation you had decided to double down naively thinking that it’ll work. I can tell you how’s it going to look like: all people start ignoring you soon, you loose interest, leave these threads for some time to cope with the failure, you are left with the sense of wasted time and even bitter attitude. You’re loosing in every scenario but I hoped we could at least have a chat after all this time spent in these threads. Your choice

Different Anon I guess, mostly lurking here. I was gifted an older set of samples (with the black, higher quality paper sample holders) back in Dec, and am currently in the process of getting the rest of them, lacking only Civet, Musk Deer, Koala, snow owl and the dodos I think.

So far I have definitely enjoyed T Rex, Hyrax and Moth the most. As far as general wearability goes, I would consider Panda and Camel to be the most adequate, also (surprisingly) T Rex once it settled down for a bit.

Squid is nice, but quite headache inducing for me unfortunately. Bee, Rhino and new bat were also quite enjoyable, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider them for a rebuy. Beaver and Elephant were quite unremarkable.
Didn’t like hummingbird, dragonfly and chameleon at all, the later two I had to wash off.

Still have Sloth and Macaque left from my last order. If I absolutely had to buy a full bottle now, I would most likely chose T Rex.

On its face, nothing. Think about it this way, sugar and Nutrasweet are both sweet, but you'd rather have sugar.

Yes, you nailed it. I have this rich friend who always buys her parents and brother for Christmas some fragrances. They always are something from: MFK, Xerjoff, Roja, Micallef, Clive Christian. And let me just tell you that she's not a particularly knowledgeable person about fragrances, so it's not some well-thought off choice. That being said all oft them have some great stuff (I own Xerjoff Mefisto Gentiluomo myself and really like Uden, Amber Star, Nio) but if you were to take a random fragrance from their line-up then I'd most likely say "it's ok but nothing to write home about and definitely overpriced".

It’s a shame really. If I had a million pounds I’d still be careful about which fragrances I buy. I guess they’re more ornamental for these people than an appreciation for artistry.

Like you said, there’s good stuff amongst it, no doubt, but even then, it’s probably not worth the price.

always wondered how van cleef midnight in paris smelled, is there really no smell that's close to it? guess I've remembered about with this bvlgari black talk. is it this one? but it's also discontinued. fragrantica also lists prada black as a similar scent. tried it a few times, never on skin. nothing too spectacular but i think i will give it another go.

Pretty much everything by Gardoni has some benzoin in it. They also always seem to hit a medicinal vibe. But they're all so unique in spite of that, which I find really interesting.

In this case, I would say that the sweet vanilla, mint, and benzoin push things in a creamy direction. Kind of feels like a freaky take on the sweet creamy barbershop genre like IB, 1725, or Patchouli Intense.

I disagree for me Mefisto was everything I was looking from a modern, classy barbershop. Clean, professional and pleasant but with enough depth to make it interesting and not merely an olfactive background. Different strokes for different folks though obviously.

>So I've went through all of my Jacques Fath Essential line samples. They're definitely worth testing and you can get the sample set of 12x2ml samples for 17EUR from their website, so give it a go. Here are short reviews starting from those that I liked the most and gradually moving to those I liked the least. Keep in mind that I obviously liked the more masculine ones more but all of them are quality but I wouldn't personally wear Red Shoes or some other more feminine scents. Treat the ordering rather as 'what am I closest to buy a bottle of'.
>Bel Ambre
Very snice amber of the milder (but not too sweet) kind. More DS Durga kind of Amber than animalic Ambra Aurea.
>Vers Le Sud
Vers Le Sud is a lovely aquatic fig fragrance with a big dose of ambroxan. It wears like a non-obnoxious crowdpleaser like Sauvage but unlike Dior it's really snicely balanced out. The aquatic feel of it is built around some pleasant green notes and saltiness so it doesn't smell neither trivial nor like a hardcore sea-like scents like Acqua di Sale or Fathom V. Really safe, fun but classy scent. I'd highly recommend it to everyone who loves fig or just wants some easy to wear but non-routine nor overplayed warm weather scent.
>Green Water (2016)
It's an interesting one, I get the classic citrus+neroli fresh accord as known from Neroli Portofino but it's mixed with a lot of mint and some deeper woody-spicy notes giving it more substance. It feels very chypre-y and in a way it reminds of Azemour Les Orangers. Caraway gives here a BO-like vibe just like in Azemour Les Orangers. Apparently it's a recreation of a Fath's classic under the same name from 1947 where they decide to don't have any budget limits for ingredients.
>Tempête d’Automne
Very creamy sandalwood with spices with a sprinkle of florals and fresh citruses on top of it.

>> No.15962455

>>15962451
>Velours Boisé
It's a non-edgy, sweeter cousin of Jovoy Les Jeux Sont Faits. Dry woods and spices with a big whisky punch and herbal bitterness coming from immortelle and wormwood.
>L'Orée du Bois
The defiition of a yellow floral
>Lilas Exquis
That's quite a sentimental one for me. It reminds me of lilac that always filled air around the house I've grew in in summer months. A beautiful floral fragrance that our local fanclub of FM En Passant might be interested in putting their noses on.
>Rosso Epicureo
Feminine tuberose + red wine. Very nice but unwearable for me.
>Curaçao Bay
Fun, nonchalant tropical scent. Nice subtle aquatic drydown. Jeremy talked about it in one of his latest niche videos lol.
>Red Shoes
A feminine rhubarb+blackcurrant floral with some rose reminding me of OJ Damask.
>Le Loden
Vetiver, vetiver, vetiver with a bit of smoky juniper. Very dry and smoky. I guess many people could like it but I've realized that over last year I started to really dislike vetiver note so it's hard pass for me.
>Les Frivolités
Smells like a high street designer floral-fruity big seller for women.

>I should also ad that Cecile Zarokian is a really talented perfumer as it became plainly obvious after smelling her fragrances here. She's also the person who created MDCI Fetes Persanes.

Testing: probably no. Telling if something is not your cup of tea: definitely. I personally prefer this kind of small samples as I overall weed out about 90% of new fragrances I test, so it's better deal for me in the long run.
>How long would each sample last usually?
1-2 wears.

Watch any of Le Male homoerotic's ads if you still have no clue. If it's still not clear then think about Ultra Male as it should help. The idea behind this line was to make a fragrance SO MANLY that it's gay. Calling this sweet vanilla bomb, that could easily be bottled in a pink bottle as some flanker of Lancome La Vie Est Belle for women, 'ULTRA MALE' is peak humor in my opinion. ELDO tried a similar thing with their Tom of Finland but they failed to make it asgood joke as JPG's where some guys legit believe that Ultra Male is really how a young stud should smell like. Of sweet vanilla and candied pears lmao. For comparison, on the left you got notes of YSL Black Opium. One of the best selling women's fragrance that I love on my gf. On the right you got THE ULTRA MALE. Tell me that coomers repeating after youtubers that it's is a perfect SEXY MASCULINE BOY IN DA CLUB fragrance is not funny. Perhaps in a gay club.

We should revive the Ultra Male copypaste.

Let me take you on a journey, friend. You’re on vacation in San Francisco, you return to your hotel but have forgotten your room number. You walk into the room of another guest by mistake. Immediately upon entering, you notice that a bunch of sweaty men are fucking on a bed shaped like a giant martini glass covered with sequins. YMCA is playing on a loop on the room’s sound system, a disco ball hangs from the ceiling, a large TV displays episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race. John Waters is sitting on a chair in the corner sipping a cosmopolitan.

Ultra Male is gayer than that room.

Never worn fragrances before, bought 10 samples from Luckyscent using the guides although many weren't available so I dug around.

1899 Hemingway
Applied very little and smelled great for most of the day even through a mask. Disappointed once the drydown became mostly vanilla, though I really like it despite that. Not sure if I should try Spicebomb instead which it is compared, if that would be better or worse. Queuing up 1828 and 1740 next time.

Pacific Rock Moss
From the above I had high hopes for my second go yet I couldn't smell it at all once applied, as much as I liked it up close. Tried some more, still nothing really. It is still winter but I also read the performance is shit. Will be trying Bohemian Lime next regardless.

Tam Dao
Predictably super woody, better once applied. Also doesn't seem to project much or just being less complex doesn't stand out enough, though I did happen to grab the EDT version. Did not improve on second wear.

Ormonde Man
The spices reminded me of a number of different things as it evolved, and like the pine evoking Christmas, but I didn't feel strongly about this one. Didn't get as much of an impression of the woodiness. I'll try it again and see.

Oud Wood
Wasn't too confident at first, I guess smelling the oud. Later it resembled black licorice somewhat (cardamom?) yet was fairly balanced and inoffensive. Okay for what it is, but I'll try it again as well.

Tea for Two
I like tea so I really wanted to like this, overall it's okay however something puts it off a bit, I think the anise and something else that continues to linger the entire duration.

Civet
Is this what amber smells like? Don't know that I smell the civet. It has an acuteness up close, yet became pretty great over the evening. Interested in exploring more amber. Will be trying Musk Deer next, and interested in trying all the other Zoologists but probably not soon.

Timbuktu
The mango is unique, after that it's harder to pick apart. Similar to the amber of the civet, though I can see how their seasonal applications are set a little apart. Pleasant, not positive yet if I'd want a bottle but my favorite of after all these.

Desert Marocain
Incredibly nice scent but not interested in the powdery sweet notes for personal wearing, unfortunately. Will try Au Coeur du Désert, to compare, and Lonestar Memories, to relate to my hometown, next, but am also grabbing Alpes Suisses and Phtaloblue.

Invasion Barbare
Put this one off for last because my initial impression was I didn't like the lavender. It's not so bad but sits too close to being a generic deodorant scent to me, and then the drydown is quite sweet too.

I have several others in my cart from those mentioned in these threads and some other digging, but any comments, suggestions for or against, it would be appreciated. I'll get to some designers probably after this next batch.

A woody-spicy scent built on a fougere skeleton. Lavender there is to die for though. Classy, confident and manly. However, NYI is like an upgraded version of it and I don't see a place for both of them in my roto so own rather a bottle of Nicolai not BdP.

SOTD: Mendittorosa Archetipo
>Flickering candle flames cast shadows off moonstone and marble. Archetipo surrounds you in absolute silence. Archetipo was always here, before us, before all human thought.
>With Archetipo we can experience an echo of primordial memory, losing ourselves in a time without time, re-discovering olfactive consciousness. Archetypes of odour to define an archetypical scent.
>Head Notes: Fir Balsam, Pink Pepper, Incense Super Essence.
>Heart Notes: Burning Flame Accord (incl. Bushman Candle – Sarcocaulon Mossamedensis), Moonstone Accord.
>Base Notes: Patchouli, Indonesian Vetiver, Cashmere Wood, Labdanum, Black Amber, Oakmoss.
It's really great. Smoky forest scent with a punch of dark sea-like, salty accord from ambergris. Wow.

Tried it as well aginst current Kouros. In my opinion they are really quite diffrent, Man Silver is sweeter and fresher, relying more on the clean dirty top notes. Current Kouros is a smoke bomb, way less top note freshness, more of a winter fragrance. That being sad I never smelled real vintage Kouros.

>Tea for Two
When it comes to tea scents then you should absolutely try the Bulgari Eau Parfumee line. Au the Vert is a stunning fresh green tea scent. Au the Noir is a dark, deep rose+oud+leather scent with a cold black tea accord.
Au the Bleu is an iris+violet oolong tea.
Au the Blanc is clean soft white tea (I'd skip it as performance is awful).

You're trying way too hard to cause some drama. It's all too obvious. Fuck off already really. Also it's funny how you're thanking yourself. So deprived of attention after people started ignoring you that you start to mention yourself to pretend that anyone in this thread actually cares about you. No one does. You're a no-name, too mentally incapable to become known for anything other than this psychotic sperg shitposting and posting some /pol/-baits that everyone can see through. You put tens of hours into baiting, trolling, shitposting and trying to cause some drama like a teenage girl when you've been in your manic episode just to get nothing for that. The only thing you got out of all this effort is a few posts of annoyed people and even they stopped caring. You'll be remembered for nothing but being this sperg who one should not reply to in future by posters here. People who've been around for longer know that already. You don't contribute anything worth of noting. Even you're sperging is just tiring. You're like one of these hobos standing at Time Square and yelling some gibberish at the crowd who are completely invisible for all people passing by them. No one is interested about who you are, what do you do, what you look like. You're just a sperg to ignore. I don't care neither about any personal details about you but try to think what are you really doing. Try to think if any normal person of your age would do what you're doing. Realizing that you're both a failure in real life as even here online might be useful for you because you really should get some help.

I’ve learned much from these threads desu. The most important thing to remember is not to bother asking questions. You’ll just get snark, vitriol and unpleasantness. It seems to be dominated by an elitist group of bitter gay men,hyper-effeminate asexuals and generally odd fuckers with severe personality disorders. The chief Frag Hag is a 40+ married cuck who writes blogposts to himself in order to generate what he deems to be sufficiently elevated debate on obscure ostrich dung fragrances.

These threads are obnoxious as fuck but I learned about Parfums de Marly Layton and Amouage.

At this point you really should just reassess all that effort you spent here as it really doesn't catch-up as you can see yourself.
