Idk what kind of job is this person supposed to do, but where I live, this is not "workwear".
Only place on Earth this is still considered workwear is USA, I would say.
But anywhere else, Jeans and boots are no longer workwear, just regular clothes.
Same for bomber jackets. They were army clothes, at some point in history, but not anymore.

Blue collar people don't wear heritage workwear retard. They wear carhartt, levi's, wrangler, dickies, whatever is at tractor supply. I'm an arborist and wear mountaineering boots and synthetic pants and shirts from arborwear or cotton spandex blend pants. On the rare occasion I'm on spikes all day I wear logger boots.

Well, when you are exposed to paint, sparks, dust or else, you probably do not choose expensive clothing, but clothing with ok money/usefullness ratio, because you know, that your clothes probably will be damaged (tearing, oil stains, sparks from welding or dirt in general.)
So, long story short, wear and tear is increased, because you expose your clothes to such enviroment and you are using it every day.
So there is no reason to choose too fancy clothes. It should protect you, it should be comfortable and It should be reasonably priced.
So far what I have seen (and used), cargos and some textile workboots with protective elements are way to go. + Helmet/cap/faceshield and jacket (designed for your task... welding, electricity stuff etc.)

Workwear changed, as everything else. So what specific era? 1920', 1950'... USA, GB or Germany?
I believe that even in US styles (cuts) of workwear changed trought the time.
OP could have had been more specific ihmo, if he wanted discussion in that way.
Maybe something like "workwear inspo of year XXXX" would done better.
