A lot of it was probably the awkward angle of the photo giving you really shitty proportions +the meme keychain. Personally I think the outfit is fine if a little washed out, and I think it would benefit from a darker pair of boots.

Honest question here. Do any of you actually have a style or aesthetic that you're aiming for?

Almost all the fits in these threads every single time it's just a bunch of random items thrown on. Then you make little changes like rolling the pants up or wearing one part such as the jacket oversized.

But no part really flows, it's just random items put together that you tell yourself it looks different and fashionable?

The best fits ever posted here are the more simple ones that actually work together. I don't want to put Nook in the firing line here but his fits just go together and are clean and well fitted. He looks good. Then simple feminine fits for girls look better too.

I'm trying to find something to lean into, but I'm trying to find a way to have a classic look where I can inject some form of popular culture because my dream is to have a curatorial career around media, and I want my outfits to reflect a sense of legitimate understanding of styling, while reflecting my interests and being able to share.

I think that's where the problem happens. I don't post to justify any of my outfits but to work on the idea as a whole. I never claimed this style to be groundbreaking or noteworthy at all just that its where my personal interests lie and I enjoy experimenting with it and evolving over time

as for responding I don't like the idea that responding to or not responding to criticism is a bad thing. I have gotten a lot of good advice from criticism and will respond because I enjoy talking to people about stuff like this

Where is this obsession with designers and price points coming from? Its really unbecoming. What about the pairing doesn't work other than the fact that e-fashionistas know one item costs 1k and the other <$20? Like would your fit (one of your better ones too) be objectively worse if you were wearing a no-name thrifted cardigan (with a similar fit and colour pallette) and ripped up levis?
