Btw I'm 22yo, 183cm tall (6') and fit but on the leaner side. In general I like a simple, sporty but classy look but maybe that's too boring.

I like that it fits any occasion except formal and I guess it's my natural style but I thought there might be some interesting twist I could give it.

could always wear a generic t-shirt and wear a louder button up over top of it occasionally.
unless you want it to be more subtle

By a few quality clothes. How do you buy quality ? Well you get a feel for quality. How do you get a feel ? You go to an expensive store that is known to make good quality (not always the case for fashion brands like Gucci etc), touch the jeans, the t-shirts, the fabrics and pay a close attention to the details. Don't buy anything yet but go the cheapest store around your area and do the same thing. Now you've got a taste for quality.
Next thing you do is go to stores and get good quality stuff that fits you well and that match in colour and voila !
That's the general path, everything else you need to know is online

unrefined but widely appealing suggestions:
sneakers - Common Project achilles low
boots - SLP wyatts
pants - anything with an emphasis on fit and tailoring, whether jeans or formal pants
shirts - plain tees (limited colour palette: white, black, grey, neutral tones)
jackets - smart casual appeal with an emphasis on tailoring and fit (limited colour palette: black, navy, earthy/neutral tones), varsity jackets could be an option too

unironically based advice, feel your clothing before you purchase it anons

>> No.15760920

First, get your basics down, unversal items, that go with everything: pants, shirts, shoes, etc. >>15759962 /r/mfa is unironically one of the best places to learn about that. I won't try to retell the guides from the internet, there are plenty of them, do your own research.
My advice would be to NOT buy "quality and expensive items" at first. Since you've just started exploring your style, get relatively cheap items from H&M/Uniqlo/whatever. After some time with these clothes, you'd understand how they should fit, how different fabrics look and behave, what details are important to you in clothes. Some of these clothes might happen to not be right to you, but you won't have any regrets, because they are so cheap. When you'd have an understanding of what do you want from clothing, then feel free to spend more on pieces you know you'll wear.
