A bunch of shit form the ZARA:

oversized wool coat
https://www.zara.com/ca/en/wool-blend-oversized-coat-p07060288.html?v1=82076882

sweatshirt turtleneck, looks pretty good for the price all cotton https://www.zara.com/ca/en/turtleneck-sweatshirt-p00761309.html?v1=76666133

straight relaxed jeans https://www.zara.com/ca/en/regular-straight-jeans-man-unit-01-p06688350.html?v1=84966856

and regular tapered jeans https://www.zara.com/ca/en/search?searchTerm=0668842042744

that guy was totally bait, theres plenty of decent stuff you can buy in the $200 - 1k range.
but in regards to zara the poster was sincere, zara fucking sucks and supporting shitty quality clothing is stupid for anyone that likes "fashion"
but that probably isn't you is it

for the OP, coupons are dumb
just shop on ssense, mr porter, farfetch, etc. they have the sale price already applied.

should have just bought levis if you're looking for cheap jeans
and the turtleneck adn coat you should have copped +J whenever uniqlo restocks

>> No.15744069

>>15744012
I didn't say anything about zara's quality and frankly have never gotten anything from them so I wouldn't know, so I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly.
That aside, do you think it's worth paying more even for basic stuff like t shirts? Pretty much any of the stuff OP mentioned I wouldn't get from a zara-tier company, but I do have two uniqlo t shirts and a sweatshirt. It seems like for basics like that, it'll look pretty similar whether it's higher end or not, and I can get supima cotton from uniqlo, so the only reasons to pay more would be durability, comfort/feel, and appreciating better made material for its own sake (which I'm not necessarily against). Are higher end basics sufficiently better in those respects to merit the price premium, and/or are there other reasons I'm leaving out?

>> No.15744098

Uniqlo quality went down apparently. A couple years ago I bought turtleneck shirts from Uniqlo. They were "muh reverse weave" and cost like $10.
This year I went to Uniqlo and their turtlenecks and mocknecks are thin elastic trash.

nta but is the J+ stuff decent in person? I saw the Marimeko stuff in stores today and it was incredibly thin and cheap feeling. I know it wasnt anything fancy though. J+ is available online in my country in my size for the things i was looking at but not available locally.

if you are

then I was referring to
>Doesn't this shit just fall apart?
and inferred that you were implying zara-tier will just fall apart which is why i was saying yea zara quality sucks and thats a sincere point

> do you think it's worth paying more even for basic stuff like t shirts?
I've been able to cop on sale a few of the margiela 3-pack tshirts, a few apc tshirts, and a sunspel tshirt and I definitly think it's worth buying compared to basic tshirts in regards to comfort/feel and durability. i have a few things closer to the $50 range like a saturdays nyc tshirt or reigning champ tshirt and I don't think those are as worth it as the other brands' tshirts except maybe in slightly better durability

>>15744105
I actually have no idea and don't plan on buying any of it myself, it was just a suggestion as I respect buying any of the uniqlo collabs (with jil, lemaire, or jw anderson) more than I respect zara. in terms of quality, i honestly don't know though.

in addition i've gotten a few sweatshirts from dries, thom browne, and acne and think the quality of durability is there as well. does it merit the 10x markup? i don't think so. but when you ask
>are there other reasons I'm leaving out?
i think the obvious reason you're leaving out that can't be unsaid on a fashion imageboard is just straight up brand power. I'm more than willing to pay slightly more markup for a thom browne sweatshirt than just somethign like an LA apparel sweatshirt because I, like most people, like the feeling of "I'm cool because I'm wearing X brand"

Sorry I didn't mention it, I was >>15744007 (and >>15744069). Although I definitely get your point about brand appeal, personally it's never been a huge factor in what I buy/find appealing (or at least I try to ignore it). From what you said I may look out for sales on designer stuff if it seems like they bring the price in line with the diminishing returns. Appreciate ya though brudda.

yea i'd say on sale designer is worth it
but given you put no emphasis on brand appeal than it might actually be worth it to wait to check things out in person than buying everything online due to the pandemic
im sure you can find some quality basics sold by your typical brands but I think you'd want to check them out in person because you'd want to really know if it's actually worth it in your case for durability, material, etc. while for me having some brand appeal makes up for some things (e.g in the case of me having a saturdays nyc tshirt that may not be that worth it in terms of material but the durability and brand makes me enjoy wearing it)
