they are actually a pretty old company that got makes their own movements in-house but then got bought out by seiko. they retain a lot of independence though and you essentially get a seiko but for way less money and either comparable or better specs.
people dislike the logo and some of the sizing is off, like the bambino is a huge fucking meme as it's too big and the proportions are also weird. but their designs are nice and the kamasu is probably the best non-microbrand value auto you can get.

all the stuff you are asking for is typically on divers and divers trend large, but due to the big bezel they tend to look better on the wrist than their proportions would dictate so unless you have some mega manlet babby wrist you should be fine with 40mm barring some retarded lug to lug measurements.
lorier is a great choice but you should always check all your options
raven watches = 39mm, nh35 reliable, $500 or less
halios = 39mm, usually sellitas IIRC, $700-900
zelos = very well known microbrand, $500-800, bold styling and great value, 39-40mm

Well, I'm not really into chinese homage brands whose business is built on ripping off the designs of older and better swiss and japanese companies but I see them posted sometimes and they do seem nice and well built for what they are. I would get the 5610. Pretty good chance it'll get a signal every once in a while. If you want to turn off the auto sync function and do it manually you should do it at night when the signal is clearer. The auto el and tough solar is worth it imo.

If you include chinkshit, I've been plenty happy with my Corgeut black-bay homage. Mostly for the sapphire crystal (wipes off very well w/ a microfiber cloth), bezel action, and comfy bracelet. Mine has the ST-16 movement (i.e. Seagull) because I didn't want the non-hacking unidirectional $10 more expensive noisy Miyota option, but for the past two weeks it's been like -4s/d which is completely unreasonable and must be a fluke, usually it's between -9 and -6 per day.

So that's mechanical, a diver, and ludicrous bang for the buck. Still a $85 chinese watch though, but that apparently gets you one hell of a lot these days because lol stagflation or something.

That being said, Swiss companies play silly games about how much of them is permitted to have been made in chinkistan, and even more of Miyota's parts are also non-Japanese, assembled in Malaysia or some other nation-state sweatshop. I don't know if there's any major way to avoid China completely around the $500 price point; JDM is surely either quartz or not a microbrand. Probably there's some "low China" option.

1) G-Shock or equivalent as the worst beater possible when you're chopping wood and cleaning the septic tank and shit
2) metal G-Shock or another quartz watch for a daily beater if you work a blue collar job, if not skip this tier
3) slightly nicer watch (Sinn/IWC/Breitling-tier for example) as a real daily beater
4) a cheap Rolex or Omega or Tudor (if you can stomach the can't afford a Rolex stigma) for dressing up
5) no dress watch because you never wear a suit anyway, you can wear 4) instead

See, the thing as a poor person is that you can't actually wear a Rolex as a daily beater purely because of your lifestyle and the social circles you're in, it would look ridiculous. So that's why there's a lower tier too, and why it stops at Rolex.
