lmao, true. Only 2 of them also. King in the middle looking sharp. one on the left, i would go with a much darker tone of gray. But compared to the rest - still good.

Considering not one guy in the top picture had his pants tailored to the correct length things seem to be improving.

>Hedi Slimane is a French photographer and fashion designer. From 2000 to 2007, he held the position of creative director for Dior Homme.

Hedi happened. Not the cropped suits, but the skinniness. Honestly those '03 suits look ridiculous, like a 1920s gangster cartoon. You can see the white kids from 2018 with the half break look quite good. slim suits follow Greek ideals about aesthetics and beauty.

Sportball Chad here...

The "draft suit" was created in direct response to Allen Iverson. Allen Iverson was a sore spot on then NBA commissioner, David Sterns ass.

Iverson really brought hip hop/urban fashion to the NBA. Prior to Iverson, Dennis Rodman, was the bad boy of the NBA... but despite all his antics... Rodman was one person. And Rodman was so extreme with rock n roll aesthetic, nobody else in the league attempted to emulate him, his style or paid it much mind outside the shock factor.

With Iverson, his style was very similar to what most young NBA athletes wore off court. Baggy clothes, ball caps, du rags and "hood staples". Seeing Iverson wear these kind of casual clothes full time, inspired or gave an excuse for other athletes to dress more comfortably and wear what they wanted. Soon you had tons of athletes in tats, cornrows, jewelry and what Stern saw as unprofessional "thug" attire.

In early days, these guys wore suits because they had to. Any off the rack chopper suit would do. The suit was a requirement and athlete's complied. It was intended as a means of conformity and professionalism to better the image of the NBA.

Over time, these suits began to get increasingly outrageous. Implementing "fashion forward" cuts, patterns and accessories. The state of the draft suit car come almost full circle, being criticised again as unprofessional. There were actually talks about implementing new restrictions on the suits years ago but then Stern came under fire for racially oriented comments, Social Justice themes were accelerating in the media and the entire notion was dropped.

I don't really care one way or the other. The NBA has gone to shit and I think the new suits symbolize the current state well. These guys are overpaid, too friendly with eachother and seemingly more concerned with outperforning one another in a fashion contest than on court.
