does anyone here exclusively thrift things? lately i feel like buying stuff new is just a huge waste of my money in a lot of cases, and not having money to afford genuinely high quality products new i am tempted to just start buying everything i can used. that includes everything from clothes to cutlery to furniture. i just have this feeling that quality is all but inaccessible to anyone buying new who is not on a large budget, and even then it seems just plain wasteful to spend that much money on something.

If you want quality knitwear, look at scottish fairisle or yoke sweaters. It will be a bit more expensive, but you'll get the real deal.

Thats enough for at least one fit if you thrift intelligently. Just be discriminate in what you buy. Look for the right brands, the right condition and the right fit might take a while going to different stores but it can be worthwhile.

Cant say personally for your area, but I live in Scotland and alot of the smaller towns have great thrifting due to the amount of older people here. Many will buy an expensive jacket, wear it twice then give it away.
Imo look for smaller shops unless you’re looking for something in particular, as although the larger ones will have good items they'll be expensive.
