They shut down the 170 series. It was $140 USD total with the replacement OEM caseback. Oddly enough it was in the classic line of amphibias but has the finishing of an SE. Stainless crown, applied indices, stainless bezel with aluminum insert, better lume(but still shit) than the classic line. Has been running a steady +15/day since I got it, seems to be preregulated. Closest to it now is the SE line of 090s (outof stock) or the 960 GMTs.

I like going on walks and it’s especially important now that I work from home. I have a 20 minute walk each way to work, so instead I now walk to the local graveyard which is more of a park. Usually do around one hour around noon.
I’ve been there so many times now that I know a lot of the people buried there and which stones to avoid (I makes me feel very sad to see inscriptions for children). It’s very important for my mental well-being in these times to get a little sun on the favce and some fresh air in the lungs.

You could probably find a gently used Grand Seiko towards the top end of your budget. Alternatively Seiko's SARX line will keep you under $1,000 and cover most of your bases. Both will diverge from the datejust design in their own way, but both can generally be dressed up or down to suit your environment and clothing. Hamilton's Jazzmaster line might be worth looking at, it would also be well under your budget.

41mm is the sweet spot for an everyday watch. It has a 47mm lug to lug which shouldn't be a problem for you. But yeah it might be too big if you want to dress up, in that case you might need to look at used old Omega Constellations or Seamasters, which handle at 34-39mm case width.

no, not really. Many brands still use chrome plated brass to this day, vostok, timex, luch... for nickel ive seen it on very cheap AE brands
