I've been growing out my hair for almost a year and I want to cut it shorter. I want something masculine and professional looking but I don't want to let all the time I spent growing out my hair to go to waste so I want a medium-length haircut. Is this haircut any good? What are some haircuts that are long-ish but also are masuline and professional.

For example, those two first pics from the thread, they show good hairlines, if yours is similar, it'll also look good on you
If yours differ too much from it (extra hair or lacking hair), it won't look as good

I do a about a 3 on the sides and keep the top longer (scissor cut till I'm satisfied with the length). Just show whoever is cutting your hair OP pic. A 3 is kinda short but my hair looks like the pic OP posted after 2 months.

Note my hair is super thick and straight.

These look good. They’re kinda sorta what I have right now only I’m the other way around: had it shorter, but grew it out to about that length due to ‘rona. I’d say mine is a bit longer/the same length on top but shorter on the sides, as I used to have something of a pomp.

Hair now is basically OP’s only with more volume on the top due to aforementioned pomp, a bit like pic related as well. Trying to grow it even longer now to have almost a pomp-like version of the Patrick Bateman yuppie mullet, by which I basically just mean a bit more volume on the top, as per usual. Might post it once it gets there.

Overall tho I’d say go for it.

I use fiber because I prefer the matte look and if I need to keep it still, hit it with a low-shine spray at the end. I had good experience with clay, but shit got too expensive for me.
