Both are meh. I prefer LNDH over Layton because I’d just get Boss Bottled Intense instead of the latter without paying the ridiculous markup Layton but YSL performs like shit. I have EDCs that last longer. I have very good memories with the original YSL Lhomme tho. Very snice not imposing scent that’s both professional and clean but also quite spicy and interesting. However I’ve finished my bottle that I got like 10 years ago recently and not gonna rebuy the watered down modern formulations nor chase vintages but just let it go and keep memories.

Went to my local Sephora for the first time in a long time. I was quite shocked that they sell Serge Lutens and ELDO there. Tested a couple that were surprisingly wearable. You or someone like you is a huge, juicy almost candy-like mint and apple. I expected ELDO I am Trash to be disgusting, Secretiones Magnifique-like but it's actually a wearable sweet fragrance that only is a bit off if you keep in the mind the blurb describing it from the brand
>Do not throw anything away because at the bottom of our trash lies the fermented distillation of great love. The garbage trucks hold flowers that can still bleed, peels and rinds that can still give. The noxious exhalations have honey notes that can merge with the earth. And there are so many floating concretions, the trash that is thrown into the sea, and the natural waste, the ambergris, mystical symbols, the attitudes of primitive tribes – these must now be reprocessed.
It has some sweet, sticky quality to it. The 2019 Serge Lutens realease La Couche du Diable is fucking amazing. Beautiful spices. Apart from these I tried Guerlain Heritage EdT and those of you who like Creed Bois du Portugal/Lalique Homme (or maybe New York Intense but it's less similar to it) shoud try it. It's really cheap and perfect as a sophisticated manly fragrance for special formal occasions.

>> No.15569696

>>15569577
Yes, EdT is a less cloying version of EdP but they're quite similar at the end of the day. Vetiver is a bit different beast, clearly sharing the DNA though. It's also my favorite out of these three as it's the most airy one.

Yes, like 5 times already. I would suggest getting Trussardi Riflesso instead. It's quite close to LNDH, performs better and costs 1/3 price of YSL. However, if you're asking about it again because you watched some over-enthusiastic videos on YouTube and they got you psyched about getting it then hold your horses. It became very viral at some point and every youtuber was shilling it. But it's not a juice of God or Holy Grail of fragrances in any sense. Plenty of other better fragrances around that could serve the same role as LNDH.

I got a 2ml sample before copping, so I’ve given it a few good wears already. Honestly, Amouage’s best release in years by far. Maybe best ever. I get tons of cognac, but also this mellow grapefruit in the opening that’s not tart grapefruit, but more like rind or peel. Definitely something animalic, kind of furry and leathery, lots of smoke. The dry down is all about the spices and resins. You still get the other stuff, but the spices and resins are the big stars. The spices are very smooth, too. Not really loud and cacophonous like a lot of Middle Eastern spice frags tend to be. Beyond all else, though, this is Amouage getting back to their roots. This one smells very Middle Eastern. No attempts at being more mass appealing, no trying to mimic French or Italian perfumery, just an unapologetic Arab Oil Sheikh scent.

Plus I got a free full-sized bottle of Dia Man shower gel, so that was nice.

Classic is classic but I guess a modern notion of a reference fougere has changed a bit since APH has been released. I like to think of APH as the entry level fougere, but I see what you mean. Perhaps Le Male would actually be the best starting point for this branch now that I think about it, would you agree? Kouros, Caron, and Gold are all good inclusions as well. I personally have never understood how people see 1725 and IB as so similar, considering their respective vanilla/almond and violet notes are such differentiating factors, but that's just my take. Absolute is a very close brother of CdG 2 Man. Make whatever you want out of it (hint: it's great). For contrast I hate the Intense flanker with passion - it's a synthetic, cheap boozy scent that really irritates my nose.

Great choice. Probably my favorite designer fragrance of all time. It almost never shows up on discounter websites though. If you can try to get it in a duty free zone on some airport. i smelled the reg version of snicebomb and was woefully under impressed by the apparent lack of spice, surely someone else noticed my plight and made an extreme version for this very unfortunate oversight. Avignon is a standard bearer and should be at least be smelt, I think it should be the safer blind buy, few regrets at any price you will find it for.

Eh it reminds me of pre corona swaps on fb groups. There was this fucking guy who got my 70% full vintage bottle of TImbuktu for £30 after he got it I think he made a decant himself and send me a photo of a barely half-full bottle and asked me to refund him £7 lol. It was already a fucking stellar deal because I just wanted to get rid of some bottles and this cunt wanted to PayPal him an equivalent of a Big Mac with fries. I told him to fuck off and made a public post with photos and screenshots of our conversation in the group we made a swap in and he got banned from all of them.
Similar thing happened to me on eBay when I tried to sell my vintage Zootopian Bat. Guy took also a 5-10ml decant out and asked for a return and refund on my cost. However, you can't do a shit as a seller on eBay in these cases. He said that the item was not as described and opened a case against me, uploading his photos of the bottle with lower levels claiming that IT WAS NOT AS IN MY PHOTOS. No shit Sherlock, you took a decant off it or have worn it for a week spraying literately. I lost the case because I couldn't prove that my photos were taken before putting the Zootopian on the auction. Had to return him his money, pay him for postage back to me and got a bottle with less juice. I've heard that this is not a singular case and eBay is full of scamming buyers protected by eBay doing this kind of shit. Since then I've stopped using eBay for selling.

I still like MI, personally. I just think it’s a great mass-appealing scent if you don’t want to go with something generic, shower gel-y. It’s a semi-niche dumb reach frag, basically. I still take a bottle when I travel a lot. Kinda just works well everywhere.

Viking is very good, though it is basically a much better old-school Old Snice, so I could see people thinking it’s not worth the money.

I love Royal Oud too. It’s not an oud scent, more cedar and sandalwood to me, but I love that smooth, slightly bitter, woody-sweetness. It might be too mature for a lot of guys here, though.

Otherwise, I agree. Many of Creed’s frags are nothing special. I do think this general is a bit hard on the house pretty much just out of hipsterdom, though. I think it’s cool to hate on them because Aventus is so popular and its fans are so embarrassing. Not attacking anyone, just an observation.
