Omega Aqua Terra, it fits in-between the field of dress or diver. It lacks the rotating bezel, but has the screwdown crown, anti-magnetism, shock resistance, and overall robust nature of divers. The Omega ATs use pointed indices and a day window at 3 or 6 o'clock, whichever you prefer. I've seen models range anywhere from $2,999 to $4,999 new, depending on where you shop from. The guilloche striped dial isn't to everyone's tastes, though. You may not like it in pictures, but it looks so much more beautiful in person. It's one of those things.

By definition, its the opposite, replicas, both from the company that made the original, and counterfeits by third parties are made to make the buyer believe they're getting the original when they're not. Homages don't hide how they're made by someone else, and done right can be better than the original, though a lot of low effort homages might as well be counterfeit replicas.

homages are the laziest avenue in watchmaking. they're stealing a design because they can't come up with their own
replicas on the other hand have the added complication in that they're trying to get as close to the look as the original at the lowest possible cost. I'd argue they're easily more impressive than homages, who can attribute all their design failures and fuckups to "well it's just our style lul"

I don't know if they would be considered a microbrand, but they seem like a decent company, have only ever heard of good feedback from people who order direct from their website. Issues tend to come up in the ones people buy from Gnomon for whatever reason. Their business model seems to be solely online distribution, which is probably why you can get them from people who sell Seiko JDMs. Finishing's hit or miss at times from what I've seen, but when done right they're really solid. I would consider buying if I was into Rolex homages.

Why are modern Tudor designs dogshit? The modern ranger looks like a plastic toy watch when compared to the 60s original one, worse than a timex. Are they that much afraid of canibalising Rolex that they have to shoot themselves in the foot?

l have the royale. As I posted earlier on the thread (post with railmaster jean pic) I'm also thinking about buying the first and mostly last big watch purchase, up to 4k eur, is not that much to people into luxury, but for me is plenty enough to get a watch that will last a lifetime. My focus is on the utilitarian side of things, I do not seek something blingy,I'm a frugal guy, I do not like the luxury life, I do not like boasting, extreme social life...so I know the type of watch is for me, something reliable and that will use, so for now my idea is about two types of watches, fieldlike watches or utilitarian chronos, as today the list of candidates is:

-Tudor black bay 36
-Omega railmaster
-Fortis b42 official cosmonauts
-Sinn 140st /tutima military m2 (i like both)
-Omega X-33 skywalker

Once I buy one of those, I will purchase cheaper shitters, probably joining the vostok gang or at most, some 1k eur tool watch like a yema superman. But my idea is growing old with a one or two watches at most, shitter at work (work not suitable for expensive watches or even watches at all), good watch the rest of the time.

Purchase a luxury watch because it brings you happiness. Not because it is a symbol of "making it". Watches are the ultimate unnecessary luxury because there is no claim you can make that warrants their ownership. They are brutally obsolete in every single metric (inb4 the "muh heritage/craftmanship losers chime in).

So purchasing a watch, any watch, is purely done for enjoyment of that watch or appreciation of it. It should bring you happiness. If you purchase it with the idea of chasing a dragon, you'll never catch it. And you shouldn't confuse not catching this dragon with the quest for success. Success and happiness are not the same thing.

If you're poor, and after you save up 10k you decide to purchase an omega or rolex, you're an idiot. There's no other way to look at it. Instead of thinking that a non-lux watch is a reminder of your place in the world, you need to reframe your mind to thinking that it's something to improve upon. Or to be happy with how far you've come.

Don't have a loser's mindset. And yes, thinking that a non-lux watch is a reminder of your place in the world is a loser's mindset, not a winner's.

I’m pretty well off and could easily blow 20k plus on watches without really feeling it but I just buy Jap shitters when I’m bored. Seikos, Casios, Orient Star etc. Even though I have money now I’m still cheap. I would like to have a Rolex or a nice Breitling but I can’t ever seem to pull the trigger.

he is right
if you base all your happiness on materialism your life will just be empty, shallow and discontent
you are not fixing a root problem, you are just trying to fill the emptiness up. The dopamine you get from a shiny purchase goes down rapidly. And then what?

When I was poor I liked watches but was never bought any because my money was better spent elsewhere. Lets be honest. Watches are are unnecessary luxury item no matter how cool they are. Only now that I'm rich with plenty of disposable income do I think its sensible to buy them.

this is why i only buy rolex which i have 2 now
they're non profit, all profit is either re-invested to pay employee and tech research, and/or donated
there are many watch brands i like but i would never spend money on one because they're for profit or owned by public listed parent company like richemont, fuck that
i really want AP for my next watch and though they are family owned AP does donate their profit

If you can't or won't, don't try to dupe others into doing it. This is the typical richfag tactic, trying to convince everyone else to be happy with what they got, so that they minimize the chance of the poorfags impaling them on their pitchforks when they get fed up with their shit (see: christianity, buddhism, communism, etc.)

I’m a liberal, but if you’re so sad with your lot in life, try to do better. Save whatever meager income you make and eventually buy a rental property in a shitty now but soon to be gentrified area. That’s what I did and I did really well on my investment.

dude, i'm trying to help you
just go to chicago and loot some luxury shop rather than begging online
if you're not black, try to wear fake thick lips and paint yourself dark, maybe you can get away with it
see? the brain throws creative idea when you're not constantly in self pitying mode

The drop in quality of nearly every board is a direct result of a coordinated effort to suppress content that certain groups want to see removed from 4chan.
The mods are part of this effort. They will leave low quality threads and rule breaking threads untouched while they use bans to shut down legit content and discussion. Eventually anons get fed up and leave and the window gets moved, until one day this place will be a carbon copy of reddit.

>retarded Americans can "save up" while being poor and not only that buy save up to BUY A FUCKING RENTAL PROPERTY
Protip: in most of the rest of the world, people can't even save up to buy their own house when they're "not" poor. I'm really curious to know where do you think this excess of money to save up comes from into a poor person's pocket?

What i meant here >>15482336
>4channel just want to attract advertisers, and not care much for users, scum.
>scum was meant for the mods that let delete good thread and ban people to leave the shit threads up

But you automatically assumed you were the scum, way to go, insecure fags.
That chart is also normie tier explanation what diversity is for. Here's the real explanation
>divide and conquer with cultural marxism
>create as much little conflicts as possible so everybody is too occupied to see the whole kikery
>use the lefty retards and then let them eat themselves as usual
>pit the righty tards against the lefty tards
