I alternate between fasting every other day and doing two day fasts when I feel like it, and just completed my first 72+ hour fast. Considering extending it another day because I still feel great! I also keep my calorie count to <800 a day doing OMAD, save for a treat day every 2-3 weeks when I allow myself to eat some garbage like pizza or a couple burgers and maybe let myself have some vodka both for enjoyment and to help with anxiety over the food. I only drink water otherwise.
I purchased a yoga ball to sit at my desk with instead of a regular chair as it increases blood flow to the legs and helps core engagement, improving posture and calorie burning a tad. I also aim to walk every day now, with my goal being 5k steps or around 3.6 miles (according to Google Fit).

i guarantee you that you'll fail the first couple of times, but you get used to it eventually. first 48 hours are tough
supplement with electrolytes, especially if you feel light headed. refeed ideally with fats, fibrous vegetables. carbs will make you shit your gut out

More than a couple days its worth supplementing electrolytes. If you avoid drinking as well you can go longer without electrolytes but no water is fairly dangerous for more than a few days. My max is 3 days dry and with water, and ive never had any complications from it, aside from digestion issues and heart burn following a 4 day fast (3 dry + 1 with water).
Snake juice is worth doing just to be safe though. NoSalt for potassium is cheap and you already have salt. Just do it if you're going for extended periods of time

quick question

so I've never been proper thin or wanted to but would like some advice on fasting. I've been doing calisthenics for over 5 years (recently it was 100 pushups 50 sit-ups 20 pullups before every meal, so 2-3 times a day) plus a lot of cycling. I've never paid too much attention to my diet but always tried to balance enough protein and not get fat.
problem is I had an accident a month and a bit ago, and since then I've kept eating bad-ish (eating out and getting drunk a bit too much), but completely stopped all exercises. I didn't really gain too much weight, but I look a lot worse than I used to (six-pack only visible if flexing and love handles starting to show).
now my question is mainly about diet. I've recovered almost completely from my injury, but I fear that workouts alone won't be enough to burn through the excess fat I gained. fasting seems to be the logical solution and the quick way to reach a position from which I can focus more on muscle.
I'm not a fitness buff and don't want to ask /fit/ so if anyone here has any experience or advice with fasting or with recovering from relapses, that would be great
