Does anyone have an ID on these trousers or can recommend some that are similar?

>> No.15378992

>>15378965
No id, but they are basic mid grey flannel trousers. Some good brands include Drake's, Berg & Berg, Yeossal, Natalino, Poszetka and Benevento. Those trousers seem flat fronted but I would suggest pleated or double pleated instead. Going MTM is a good option, too, with prices starting at around 250€, which isn't much more than what those brands are charging for RTW.

Glad it's cooler weather so I can wear cords again. This jacket is so floppy it's basically a cardigan; I prefer not to wear stiff or heavy garments around the house tho.

I probably should have ironed my polo but life's too short. Do you iron your polos?

>> No.15379228

>>15379215
What an odd fit (not in the good way), the cords fit is just so strange, it's very baggy at the calves to the point where it looks like you have tumours but then it's quite slim at the thigh area, why is that? Not to mention that they have a low rise.
Sorry to say but that jacket is awful, it doesn't even fit like a cardigan because cardigans are quite form fitting. Heavy fabrics paired with a polo look strange to say the least and it literally makes no sense (same with the boat shoes). You really need to reconsider your clothing and fits if you think that this is an acceptable fit (at least to post here).

>> No.15379248

>>15379228
Thanks for the frank critique. I'm not trying to post exemplary fits that encapsulate /tip/, and desu not having to go into the city has really had a deteriorating effect on my outfit choices.

That said, regarding the cords, it might just be the photo, but they are a cheap pair and are a bit if a weird skinny type fit. Should one iron a crease in cords?
As for the jacket, I'm probably a little blind to it's faults because it is so comfy. I can see more why my gf dislikes it now...

>> No.15379257

>>15379092
Don't bother. There's hardly anything there. In fact, generally for a lot of /tip/ brands in Europe, ebay is pretty rubbish. If I were you, I'd either save up for a brand like natalino or go on yoox. I'd recommend brands like Zanella or Iconotex on yoox.

>> No.15379262

It's good that you took what I said as constructive criticism, I may have been a bit harsh in some parts but I really try to hold back to not sound like a cunt because some people take it a bit too personally and disregard everything said completely.
Also, I get that you don't wear this outside, it's just that if you do post a fit here, no one will really care for what occasion or of what use it gives you (in this case, just around the house), just on how it looks.
>Should one iron a crease in cords?

Not sure it's possible. There are some pretty based ralph lauren fits from the 90s with models who have longer hair. The important thing is that if you're going to have long hair that it is clean-cut and styled in a conservative manner. No metal-head long hair or dreads. No greasy gross, incel hair or hair which goes beyond your shoulders.

Where I live (Fulham, London). There are A LOT of young men with hair like this.

Nothing wrong with some padding. Many many J.Press jackets in the past have it and it's not considered particularly trad or un-trad. It really depends on your body-type and they certainly exist for a good reason.

If you have weak shoulders they're kind of a must. One of the reasons that Simon Crompton looks so goofy is that he's got super fucked up weak shoulders and he always wears unstructured Italian suits. In the post you quoted, Gene Kelly is wearing a slightly padded jacket (it's not even that padded) which was probably a bad move for him since he had strong, muscular shoulders.

Agreed. It should be modernised an my style that becomes a uniform becomes a form of cosplay. Gentlemans gazette man is an example of this. I like ivy. It bridged the gap between the modern and the formalI and was considered to be quite fashionable compared to what the city workers were wearing. It was athletic, academic and slouchy. I think any modern interpretation of the style should make nods to that spirit. I like to wear hoodies, caps, low key sneakers, polos and tee shirts to make it much more casual. If you continue to wear key pieces such as flannel, chino trousers with a traditional cut (think 21cm hem opening) as well as blazers and ocbds, you can really do a lot with the style.

It's not that good but it's most definitely not horrendous. It's a classic, a bit basic fit so you can use the navy polo, khaki chino as a primer but I'd probably fix some things in it like maybe getting chinos with a slightly wider leg, a higher rise and last of to change the sneakers for a more traditional, simple sneaker/tennis shoe. I can't see how the polo fits but it sort of looks a bit too big, especially around the waist. Overall, not a bad fit, with a few fixes here and there it would be pretty decent. 6/10

I actually agree with the frenchy.
Bottom line is, there's little possibility for a person under 25 to dress /tip/ without significantly bending the "rules." Even in your late 20s on, they should be more like guidelines. Despite what some autist on here will tell you, the point is not to avoid individuality. It's to express it in a different aesthetic just like with every other style, formal wear and uniforms excepted. There's nothing wrong with fully adhering either if you can reasonably pull it off or the occasion calls for it, but to do so as a rule gives up a lot of potential for internet good boy points that you certainly can't redeem in the real world. All that said, do not even think about combining prep and soicore. Just don't do it. Combine it with something like classic athletic wear or rivieracore or even small touches of street wear. The last thing you want is to end up looking like your mom dressed you like this anon. >>15382153 The individual items (except the shoes) are all fine, but the overall impression is a child that's been brought to a Sunday brunch at the country club that his parents just joined. The effect is even worse since the anon in question is older and a lanklet. He needs to consider dressing in more masculine clothes in general so he doesn't look so boyish and weak. Alternatively just lift (especially take the neckpill and focus on delts, lats, and traps). I'm being deliberately harsh here, Anon. You have tons of potential, but you're wasting it chasing a look that simply doesn't fit you. You can still dress /tip/py, but you need to change your approach.

Disagree. If he were older he would just look out of place to an even greater degree. On a person with a different build, his fit would look alright, maybe even good. As he is though, he needs to ditch the jacket and at least do some damn pullups so his lats and bis aren't so small or, alternatively, wear something more flattering to his figure. He's done well to combine prep staples but has done nothing to consider how they fit him. Not everyone should wear everything and this anon would be better suited with an OCBD with the sleeves rolled up and with either looser pants or shorts or something like that. His eye for clothes is not bad, but he hasn't figured out what works for him yet. If he gets /fit/, his options will expand significantly. You can discard this advice if you like, but people will definitely think this when they look at you. Some older people will no doubt tell you "don't you look nice?" but anyone your own age will inevitably think you look odd until you either change yourself or change your approach. Honestly, replace the jacket with a sweatshirt or hoodie and you've got a solid modern take on /tip/ for young people.

>>15384564
Yeah, it's quite uncommon in younger males imo because anterior pelvic tilt is much more common, caused by excessive sitting. PPT is more of an old man's thing usually. Dieworkwear or Putthison once did an article about these posture problems effecting trouser fit but i've lost it. In any case, it greatly effects the front-back-balance of trousers and a good pair of MTM or bespoke trousers would address that (especially with dressier trousers that are supposed to drape in a long straight line from the hip down).

The last time I was at the Madison store it was sad, sad, sad. They'd surrendered most of the ground floor to some ill-thought cafe where a handful of Asian tourists were resting their feet... likely before heading next door to Paul Stewart.

The trad market is small, and the updated trad that they've pushed in the last few years is neither updated enough to compete with fashion brands nor trad enough to satisfy the die-hards. There's a reason J Press retreated to the Yale club.

Can longsleeve polos work well casually instead of button up shirt?

I don't know if I can make these look good without looking too overdressed to my peers and if they're strictly >athletic. The environment I am in isn't really suited to OCBDs and slacks in the UK, as well as my age (23), I lift and look somewhat athletic.

In addition, since my measurement change I can't really afford to buy nice shirts and get them tailored just yet without wasting a lot of money since a shirt needs to fit better than say a t-shirt or polo so this is why I'm asking.
