do you prefer one large tattoo that forms a distinct piece, or a bunch of little shit tattoos in clashing styles?

I prefer the full pieces over the clusters of small tattoos some people get. They create a more cohesive look.

tattoos are actually disgusting imo. lol at ppl who cant realise any pic where tattoos look good is just cos the person is attractive/in shape/not ugly.

Tattoos should reflect your job or your background. Having random Asian shit all over John or Sally Smith from Michigan or whatever makes no fucking sense.

I think it's a delicate balance. Most full bodysuits or gigantic projects are culturally rooted (the Japanese ones, Polynesian, various smaller tribes, Buddhist stuff in South East Asia, etc) so it inherently looks, "out of place," if you're not from there. That being said, you have artists who kind of fit somewhere in the middle, where most of their customers are from a certain place or general ethnicity, but I do not see why their larger scale projects couldn't fit on anybody (namely Guy Le and Gakkin are the two more famous ones that come to mind). I think there is a growing segment of tattoo artists that prefer/want to only book large scale projects, the two that come to mind are Joshua Ross and Joaquin G aka acetates, and so naturally we'll probably see more people adopting different styles and stuff like that (mostly, I think we're already seeing different spins on Japanese bodysuits). It should be said as well with more Western styles (Americana and just general traditional), that larger scale projects are stylistically different, as the shading and subject content presents a different look on the skin and is not quite as background shading heavy, so even a full body suit is going to look a little "patchy," with various amounts of skin showing. Personally, I think most tattoo artists have a similar philosophy of collecting, wherever they end up traveling. That's always been appealing to me, and I don't think I'd want to have one person do all of my tattoos. It's more interesting to meet other people and hear their stories.
