Depends on the look you're after.

Rick Owens, and similar designers, extend certain parts of the garment for effect. Others shorten them for effect, as well.

I have the same issue as you anon and it's just a basic fact that clothing is not made to fit universally. You need to try on more brands, preferably in person, until you find a brand that designs clothing that fits your size. For me, it's ll bean with their boxy cuts.

Personally, I think clothing that's too tight only looks good for the one millisecond it's stretched onto your body. The moment you sit down or lift your arms above your head, you end up looking ridiculous as the fabric starts bunching up in odd places. Wearing stuff that's slightly baggy (a lil bit too long) is the lesser of two evils. It won't look as good but you won't need to baby it and it's far more comfortable. I have no experience with tailored clothing but that's probably gonna be the end goal with /fit/ guys and their odd proportions.
