As the picture suggests:

- simple light wash Levis 501
- white t-shirt

I'd like to add:

- white sneakers, for instance chucks, mexico 66, nike grandstand 2
- western shirt

as for western-shirts, Levis 100% cotton from the cone mill are nice

It’s “branding” but it’s not like Gucci. The pocket stitching is subtle and pretty much unrecognizable as anything but an arbitrary design. The leather patch does have the name of the company but it also serves a functional purpose by saying the cut and size of the jeans. The red tag is pretty much unnoticeable
Also, to me, things as ubiquitous as a pair of Levi’s jeans kind of transcend the concept of branding

>>14944435
yes they aren't as loud as gucci and the leather patch does have a purpuse. i'm not against levi's at all but the subject of this thread is minimalism. an idea taken from the art movement. what i tried to simply point out is that levi's cannot be categorized as "minimalist" no matter how ubiquitous they might be today

You are trying to tell others that your understanding of minimalism is universal, brandings can be loud, they also can be universal and ubiquitious cultural elements...so there is no exclusion of all brands from the concept of sartorial minimalism necessary.

this acceptance for subtle branding especially in something like as radically opposite to it like minimalism is so grotesque and tasteless
also calling it an "cultural element." holy fuck dude. if you can't live without your brand logos then just become what you are

It depends on the setting/scene, doesn't it? A minimalist take on corporate fashion isn't quite the same as some guy in living in the middle of nowhere.

You need footwear, pants and some kind of shirt at a minimum. What you can get away with depends on where you live and what you do for a living.

I don't like the Levis 501. They are too baggy. Let alone the fact that you have to actually go to the store and try them on since Levis is such garbage inconsistent jeans sizing from even color to color within the same model#.
I like having an elegant silhouette.

I like 502s for that, they really clean up the silhouette. Not that a looser fit is necessarily bad, as long as it’s intentional and well executed.

If you’re going for scandi minimalism you should make knits and colorblocking the main focus of your outfits. I dress in a similar kinda style and I find that sweaters with subtle patterns / knits are a good way to get started, as sweater + jeans = foolproof simple outfit. Overshirts and solid color flannels are good for this too. Muji and uniqlo are good places to get minimal unbranded basics.
